Thank you for posting this review but the reviewer is far too generous with his scores. The one that stands out is breathability which is a huge downfall of these kicks, yet the reviewer gives it a 75. Likewise the scoring for ankle support and cushioning is far too high.

I haven't owned a pair of OG Vs or the '99 retros but the '06 retros had very little padding around the ankle and I won't even comment on any retro Vs after '06 as construction and padding are a thing of the past. Cushioning is an interesting point as it does use a setup from the early 90s but the price point of these hybrids is not reflective of the older technology it possesses.

As a basketball sneaker these should really score a C or C- as the technology is dated but the price point is similar to a higher performing model. Yeah you can hoop in them but there are far better and cheaper alternatives.

As a lifestyle sneaker these score a F as they are 100% derivative of older models - they aren't a reimagining or a reinterpretation of a classic, just a mish mash of different components haphazardly thrown together.

Here comes the translation for the the "generous marks" by human Chinese translators:

Appearance: 95
Breathability: 75
Comfortable fit: 85
Shock-absorbing: 75
Ankle-support: 80
Wear-resistance  & Grip: 80
Overrall Grading: B+

Thought it might help in some way...
