so what if that's why I did. if you ain't trying to pay overprice for jordans, then do something about it.
and re-selling early release was what I did.

p.s. i wouldn't make money if i got them from air randy and them. They were selling them for 280-350. I stated i got them for $180

got them from another source, yahoo.com.hk (same as our craigslist)! i won't denied that they weren't early release, but I always alert my customers about the flaws. Which was only the carbon fiber.

It's their money and their time and effort that's put into securing their shoes. Everyone has the same opportunity. These grown men with a sense of entitlement to shoes is sickening
Agreed. We talkin about sneakers. That's it. Dudes on here need to check themselves with their elitist attitude. You don't "deserve" a pair of Jordans any more than the next person. Grow Up.
This is the cold truth. I wish I didn't have to camp out, but I have to so I can ensure that I will only pay retail. I'd much rather do that than sleep in and pay the consequences later.

1. Most people have overpaid for a pair of shoes. I bought a pair of XI Breds last year for $250 (pretty decent price if you ask me) before this year's re-release announcement. Since they're my #2 grails, I'm content that I've been able to rock them for a while now, and dudes are breaking their necks checking out my shoes.
2. Probably the only fair way to sell shoes on a launch date is to do some type of raffle system. Then you'll get a good mix of sneakerheads, resellers, and girlfriends who bring their kids, their entire family, and leave their newborns in the car.
3. If you get up to the front door and they don't have your size, then don't buy a random size. If you're a size 11.0 and you buy a pair of 7.5, there's no way in hell anyone will trade with you. The likelihood that a guy size 7.5 bought a pair of 11.0, instead of his own size, and now wants to trade with you is very slim.
4. In the end, they're just shoes. Seriously, just shoes. No need to fight, stab, shoot, kill, rob, vandalize, pepperspray, etc over a pair of shoes. When I was young and my parents bought me the shoes that Jordan was playing in, people were robbed for their shoes in the hood. Now I see it coming full circle and it's getting progressively worse.
5. Nike/JB does not care about the consumer. Period. They don't give a rat's booty how crappy the quality has gotten, how much the prices have gone up, and about the limited supply. The demand is almost insatiable but Nike/JB refuses to send additional shipments of their popular shoes. Supply & demand, equilibrium price, and all other business factors are seemingly not important to them. The only thing they care about is marketing, and we are behaving like Apple drones (I own an iPhone too, so I'm just as guilty).

My recent experience when the Cements IV's came out on the same day of Kobe stealth sums up the majority of what sneakerheads experience:

I only wanted the Kobe stealths. I wanted to buy 1 pair for me to wear, and didn't care about reselling nor the temptation of a crazy cash offer. I went to the Nike store @ 5am. The raffle was to start by a certain time, and the buying of the shoes started at 7am I think it was. J's sold out real quick. With over 600 people lined up, it was bound to happen. Many, many people were bummed out because the J's sold out. People in line start saying "Hey, let's buy the Kobes since they're limited release." Size 11.0 Kobes sold out. Aww man, do I wait in line? Maybe I can squeeze into a smaller size or flood in a bigger size? Only 3 of us left in line by 8am. Homeboy needs a size 13 and I need an 11 but only 14 and 7.5 left. Homeboy's friend bows out and I end up with the size 7.5. I'm bummed but I don't want to leave the store without a pair of shoes. I've driven 40 miles to the store and spent 3 hours in line. Ultimately I sold the pair for retail on Craigslist after trying for a week to trade for my size.

After my little story, I'm basically saying that I'm part of the problem, and I know that I am. But there's certain things I won't do such as going to a launch just to snag 2 pairs to resell. I go buy shoes that I intend to wear, and I don't waste my time on releases that I don't care about. There isn't a thing I can do if I miss a release or can't snag of pair of shoes that I really, really want. I'm pretty much done this year for retail priced shoes, until Thanksgiving and Christmas JB releases, and will not over for shoes at all.
Should have sold it for market value and used the proceeds to purchase a pair in your size.

The thing I have learned to do with "most" releases is if I can't cop on release day without getting to the store hours before hand is just wait a week or two after the release. I have been able to catch soome great deals from resellers who at that point are dying to get the shoes off their hands. For instance, I copped both the stealth 10's and white/red 14's for $150/each, and with tax considered I saved about $25 on each pair. So patience is a virtue, if you can't cop from the store on the release day don't buy into the hype, wait it out a week or two and it could actually work to your benefit. Same thing also happened to me with the Chicago 10's....

honestly let me say whose fault it is. Its all those sneaker info sites like kicks on fire, nice kicks etc. They basically made it so the average lame can become a Shoe head. Thats the websites where most newer heads go to. If it wasn't for them there wouldn't be so many "Sneakerheads."

^ Not entirely. Everyone has a hand in it, the consumer, Nike, the sites for hyping it up, American capitalism. All have a hand in it. It's sickening and I'm done with it all. Smh...

thats definitely not true because back in the day if you wanted a pair of jordans you could do the leg work and find out when the new J's were releasing, something has happened and its killing the game, not one particular thing but multiple reasons why shoe collecting is dead.

Agree 100%   Twitter also has also contributed to this especially when these sites tweet about a new shoe and release reminders every 5 minutes....not to mention all these younger kids see there favorite rappers with the shoes on two weeks in advance and have to have them.

Yes they are. They purchase an enitre footaction inventory for retail and they set they're price based on flight club, ebay and cl. And once a buyer gives in to these outrageous prices.the reseller would think its the norm to sell shoes at that price and the cycle would continue till nobody buys from a mom and pop store or an independent seller. Only then they would be forced to lower there price or return the shoe back to the footlocker in which they bought it from.

I would say it's the rappers to a certain point, but social media has open the gates for mass picture sharing. When "everyone" has them and everybody is becoming "sneakerheads" it's easier to start fads. Taking pictures of lines outside the stores has people in a state of panic, making it easier for someone who's inexperienced to rush out and pay retail prices. It's a lot of different factors, but the internet had so much to do with the current state of "the game"

Resellers are a problem with the crazy rape prices, but all the people who say they are messing up the sneaker game with the camping are crazy, times change you have to wait in line for the sneakers now, if you want them bad enough you'll wait, if the true sneakerheads wait in line there wont be as much reselling, IMO.

Proposal to everyone: stop hyping things up. Stop commenting on threads in forums or blogs when there are upcoming releases saying "I'm so going to cop this" or something of the sort.

I used to be able to walk into a store around here almost a week after release day and still be able to get myself a 10.5. Now they sell out in minutes and every manager I talked to said blame the concords. I think they just got way to much media behind them and everyone thinks that any Jordan retro will be the same now.

I don't fell as if they are a problem sometimes they help out with decent pricing especially on NT, You just have to work hard at stuff you want just like everything else in life. On the Cavs 4 release I did everything I could think of only to still come up short but it's cool I only wanted them to trade for another shoe that I wouldn't have to pay reseller price on.
