9/11. Never forget. The only Flyknit Friday that matters at this point.

Been lurking forever and a day on this thread. Just wanna say thank you to everyone for helping me get my first flyknits (Goons and Oreo 2.0s). Per the MC madness, idk it I can pull those off, but would definitely give the nod to those rocking them. On a separate note, was traveling all last week, went thru Socal thru Twin Cities, and then thru DC for trabajo. Didn't see one person rocking flyknits. Would love to see some of these harder to get Flyknits in the wild. Anyway, good luck to y'all, probably try and scoop some MCs for the wifey come Friday.

So the oreo 2.0 selling out had nothing to do with the growing popularity of Flyknits? Remember when Roshes started selling out? Which celeb wore them to make them popular? Oh right. There wasn't one. Like Roshes, Oreos are sitting now because the supply has finally surpassed demand after multiple restocks. Fads and trends work in weird ways that can't always be attributed to a single figure.

Flyknits used to sit and hit outlets because they were still relatively low-key, but the demand and awareness of them has been steadily growing for a while (hyperpunch, pinks, etc all started popping up at Footlocker and that's not just for no reason). Imo, the thing that really slingshotted flyknits into popularity were the outlets getting in MC trainers and the rerelease of b/w racers. When sites like hypebeast and complex put the b/w rerelease on a pedestal, it was REALLY over.

The "limited" tag argument I can understand, but it really irks me when people try to say it's all because Kanye or some celeb decided to randomly wear a pair of shoes out. If that were true, infra/blk VIs would be by far the hardest Jordan to obtain.
I cant give this anymore thumbs up! People who bring up the Kanye argument are the ones who copped because Kanye wore them. Most cop now because they see "value" in the shoe rather than genuinely liking the shoe

Well I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't say I bought it cause of a so called celeb. I got my first flyknits (volt trainers) cause of the Olympics and how all of team USA were all wearing them. People were really buying them during that time. I actually think if any, Kanye jumped on shoe collectors band wagon. I don't think I know one person that gives credit to Kanye for this Flyknit craze but I hardly talk to sneakerheads at all.

Kinda of sad the word hit mainstream on the MC today...I was just hoping the sneaker gods would allow this release to go under the radar. Who am I kidding ha.

I'm pretty sure the "hype" was always there for the Neo Turqs. They randomly dropped on NDC (on New Years Day if I remember correctly) and sold out pretty quick. They never restocked or released on any other site so people always kinda beasted for them. It wasn't until well after they released that Bron posted the pic of him wearing them on IG.
