Question...are there volt trainers with the extra heel padding? I'm looking to buy a second pair, but I don't want one with the padding.

no, of the og releases, only the white/black and black/white trainers have gotten the padded treatment.
 
Not sure if this was covered in this thread before. I just loaded on 2 pairs of trainers from NDC and 3 pairs of racers from LL this week.

Does anyone know where to get the thin laces like the ones on the orange racers? I like the ones I got for the oranges but the red racers have a ribbon like lace I want to change. running stores?

I think the closest thing others on this forum have found are the KIWI laces found at Target. I haven't seen em personally, but it doesn't seem close enough to the OG laces.

Edit - I stand corrected, haha. Any pics of the new balance laces on?

if you just use these shoes for casual wear.. padded or non-padded doesnt matter. Dont buy into the hype.

Youll get your ankle slice if you wear low cut socks or go sockless, im guessing thats why nike decided to add the padding.
