ugh. why. after i posted last month production likely wasnt set to begin til 2013, it was stated we'd see these in July. I had prepped myself for disappointment, but got all excited for nothing. it's gonna hurt even more now when i pass off my flyknits to a friend later this week. i'll cross my fingers for some better news, or news this is bad info lol.

Agreed on Lunar Racers though, I'm not a runner by any stretch of the word.

The look of these has me most excited, I haven't really followed this thread, anywhere for me to find them?

i'm not a runner really, but i do get excited with new tech.....

Both the trainers and the runners are sick.

^true, but when it comes to technical stuff, like the "new running shoe"...sometimes it's nice to see them change it up and actually do something different. i.e. the free run 1 vs 2....aesthetically the 2 looks better IMO, but he ride to me was pretty damn similar...

I will reserve judgement then...i mean i do like my yeezy's and they sit on an old air rev/jordan iii midsole.... so "touche" lol

I'm sure we will be seeing these in time to coincide with the olympics, that's what all those years of R&D have added up to. I doubt a company like Nike would hold a huge press conference about this amazing new thing they have come up with and then not actually release the product because of trouble with a knitting machine...

I agree with you in that Nike, with as big and successful as they are, is not going to miss the opportunity to debut and feature new technology during the olympics.  It would be huge gaffe and a miss opportunity if Nike can get the production in gear.

The Racers look DOPE in that pic; however, I can't get over the Black outsole...smiley: ohwell

Was reading some stuff on Bloomberg.com & came across this article about the flyknit posted March 7th. Thought I'd share. The photo above accompanied the story. Thought it was a cool pic. Story below.

Nike Inc.’s (NKE) latest running shoe got its start when designers tried to solve a longstanding request from athletes: make shoes as comfortable as socks.

^^^ How did they perform on the diamond?smiley: grinkidding... but seriously, do these fit narrow and or kinda like the lunar racers from a few years back or are they pretty stretchy?  I would find it difficult to believe these get pushed back to 2013 in light of the olympics and the drops they have already had.  Not that they have been MASS produced, but probably more produced than we the public know already. just my .02.  Jealous of the dudes that have 'em already.  More excited about these than Roshes I think.

Thank you for the photo's.  Your flyknits look great.  How do they fit/feel?  Is the sizing true, or due to the sock-like nature of the shoe, should I go a half size down from my regular size?  Can you see your socks through the outside of the shoe since they are woven?
For those asking about the sizing I cannot speak for the trainers. These racers however do run very true to size for me personally, maybe leaning slightly towards the narrow side. And the material doesn't stretch so much as just form to your foot when you tighten the laces. And yes parts of the uppers (more on the racers than the trainers I believe) are in fact see thru due to the way it's "knitted" together. Basically the top of the toe box and the saddle are formed with a loose knit resulting in tiny 1/8th inch holes. Here's some pic to try to show what I'm saying:(sorry to page jack) I guess this is the best way the show the "holes" I am referring to as you can see them in the swoosh, also the swoosh is painted on: image Here is the toe box and the volt green you are seeing is the insole as the knit is "see-thru": imageimage The hint of volt in the base of the upper is the insole again: image

Here are the photos of the volt trainers. I found them on SneakerNews.com via this link. Nike had them on for display & for folks to try on at the Penn Relays. My manager's son tried the racers on & loved them. He said they were extremely well ventilated. I love that Fujiwara/Fragment is somehow involved in the design process. Hope it doesn't make me sound like a hypebeast, but it kind makes me want a pair more.

Using only one color in the weave completely changes the look of the shoe. It almost looks like a completely different shoe.  You can really see the ventilation in those photos. Thanks for the pictures.

^^verysteri otypical, thanks for the review/info and the second round of detailed pictures. I cant wait to get my hands on a pair.  Or I guess my feet in a pair.

I was thinking the same thing. It looks very plan with one solid color on the upper. I was hoping that image is from a proto type because the multi color looks much better. Even if they used just black...

^ Not really feeling those one-color uppers. They have to be prototypes, look where the swoosh is placed.
def don't like those monotone uppers as much. only if they were mostly black or some other conservative color so i could wear them to work everyday.
I thought the article said those were try on pairs?

Will HTM ones actually get a release?

I'll take any of the pairs in the photo too. My boss' son that tried them on at the Penn Relays said they were very well ventilated so much so however they probably shouldn't be worn in the cold.

verysteri otypical-
What are your thoughts since you own a pair?
the racers are essentially like wearing a second(thin)sock. i havent worn them without socks yet but i believe Cement has. as far as wearing them in the cold i dont think it would matter if you are using them solely for running cause the heat from your feet would compensate for the cold air. however i wouldnt recommend wearing them in any snow or or freezing water cause i imagine that would make them become uncomfortable very quickly haha...
