Man $225 is not that great price for the racers imho. I've consistently found them for that price except for eBay. A good price is under $200. If you're still looking, be patient. I got mine for $180 and that was after prices skyrocketed. And congrats to all for the neo pickups, in my opinion neo >> MC

I know it's not the Lunar thread but I'm sure you guys would enjoy some pics of the sample FK Lunar1 Multicolors with the Racer/HTM-esque weave.
Pics don't do these justice. They're amazing in person. I'm actually gonna do some customizing to these too. Gonna paint the entire midsole white (get rid of the grey top layer). Also gonna paint the tongue and ankle collar black. Sort of turn em into a Racer/HTM trainer hybrid.
What kills me is the fact that Nike can put out some amazing kicks like this with a little effort but chose to put out stuff half the quality. I mean, take these and put them side by side with the ones actually released and theres no comparison.

That price isn't bad at all. I think with the older racer colors (black/white, red/black, volt) other than the MCs, you can expect to pay anywhere between $170-$200 shipped, maybe a little more if you're size is scarce.

I agree 100%. Flyknits have so much potential but man there are so many bad colorways.

The potential is definitely there, both the sample MC Lunars seen above and the sample MC Trainers a few pages back make the actual released product look terrible. Not to mention the abundance of mediocre colorways, I'd rather see half as many but the ones that do come out are all bangers. Hopefully someone from Nike is reading this... hint hint. Haha

IMO nike holds back on purpose, to save the special weave for limited pairs (htm, Kobe's, etc). The racers got it for whatever reason , but the colors were still held back. Look at the crazy stuff they done on the htm pairs.

are you guys using large or small for the shoe tree from ikea? i bought the large and it seems to be stretching my pair out too much, since mines are size 8 and 8.5. the small looked too tiny to so i only bought the large.

Agreed. I also believe that Nike intentionally releases the ones with mediocre weave patterns so they can hold the more elaborate ones for the limited pairs.
I sent one of my boys a pic of these when I got them yesterday. His first response said that he didn't see much of a difference from the release version. Then I sent him a pic of those and he was like "Yeah nevermind they look nothing alike. Those are fire."

they've made samples in other sizes other than the usual size 9. I've seen some samples that were size 8. Hell, i even had the Andre Agassi Nike Air Tech Challenge 1 low top samples and they were a size 8.
