I feel like this is in response to what I started so I'll jump in again.
I personally am not calling you elitist, but it is true pointing out what we were able to pay for them before does very little for anything going on today. Fact of the matter is the shoes are more popular now than before, getting deals like what we had will not happen so it doesn't help him out if we compare what we paid to what they will be able to get them for now. For example a lot of us that were in the thread were able to get MC Racers for retail days after the release, hell I ordered 2 pairs just to compare knits & sold the other to someone for retail...nobody's getting a pair for retail if they ask today. That moment is gone, it's in the past, it's history. It was something that existed at that time, it was amazing, I loved it, I miss it & want that back, but that's not reality.

Do I think people should pay $250+ for any pair of flyknits? Nope. Easily nope. Personally not worth that much to me, but I've also seen what there is to see with these so I have my own idea of what I want & I'm not looking to experience that feeling of getting my first pair/pairs anymore, which is a feeling someone already in the know can't put a true price on compared to this new breed. When we were seeing HTM releases before the first GR pairs hit I was ready to pay out the *** for a pair, it was a new & exciting shoe that none of us really had experience with. Just because the shoe has been on the market doesn't mean they aren't new to some people, these aren't shoes available everywhere & are generally not sitting around to order besides the current colors which can be hit-or-miss.

We can certainly agree the new guys are getting ripped off going for these old pairs. Do people not get ripped off buying Jordans or other retro nike's these days? Buying most Lebrons on RD when they've been found discounted all over lately? Buying PS4s or new tech in general when it initially releases knowing for most of the life they have the tech the value will depreciate to be worth a small fraction compared to what we paid? Ideally it would be AMAZING if we didn't have to deal with the initial higher price tag for stuff but sometimes it's not about the end value it's about the value we place on the item ourselves. & just to help out some people, I do understand people not wanting to pay TOO much when they're caught up in the moment & ready to pay the first price they see, so they ask for price checks to see if it's a "reasonable man's offer", fine concept but honestly doesn't matter. Nothing to hate though.

I'll finish with this: is this all messing up future releases & our opportunities to go back & get past releases we passed on? Hell yea it is, without a doubt & it's a *****. I wonder though if we would even have these pairs if it wasn't for the extra boom in popularity these are having though, because going back to a point I made in a previous post...how many retailers were carrying these? The numbers were dropping(look around & tell me how many different retailers carried the oreo 2.0s compared to the original volt/orange racers). It's a double edge sword. We can complain all we want, that's living in the past though. The past was cool but that's not going to help the present. Fact of the matter is as time passes there will be more people to discover these shoes, that means more people trying to catch up to the opportunities we've already had, & people wondering what type of price they should pay because as more people buy the supply up the demand will drive those prices into higher realms or watch those pairs vanish because they won't be available.

I understand you may not want to pay that price, but that really isn't your decision to make in this situation because we've been here to make our own easier decisions. That's just how it goes. I'm sorry this probably seems to come off as an attack on you/your stance because it really isn't on you personally at all. I hope I didn't rustle any jimmies for anyone reading this at all, but believe me I rustled my ex's jimmies a hell of a lot more than anything I said here, it's just what I do.
agree with everything you're saying here.

i guess im just biased on how i want to spend my money when it comes to these things. personally not willing to let a reseller come up that huge on my account even though i can afford it.

but to each their own. the dude is free to pay $250 for used red racers. just like im free to point out that the guy selling it to him probably bought it for $90 a while ago. thats not hating on newbs. just stating the facts so they know.

Dammit I reret selling my Mc racers desperately before my vacation for some extra cash in which i blew quickly at the casino. SMH at myself. Now I know I will never get a pair unless I give up a arm and leg.
