Based on the info from the last 8 or so pages...for everyone looking to buy the restocked FKTs on Nike.com:

- White/Black all pairs being shipped are PADDED.

- Black/White seems like a crapshoot. Some people are getting NON-PADDED and others are receiving PADDED.

Padded/NonPadded does not change your sizing, buy TTS 
 
So i came to conclusion for the trainer .If you run or wear these sockless, unpadded is the way to go. It fits more snug and feels/is more breatheable.Casual wear (90% of the people in this thread) it doesnt really matter, its all a placebeo effect. *unless you run more than 5 miles in these, padded or non padded is irrelevant. (i started getting blister around 5 miles with my padded pair)
 
Just got off the phone with Erica @ Destin. She said they aren't volt, but they are electric green...

Appreciate the heads up though!

Anyone have any spots local to Houston for the black/whites?
 
Just buy em, You can get kiwi brand white oval laces from target for $2.14 that do the trick. Personally, I took the black oval laces from my black/white pair and replaced THOSE with black kiwi oval laces from target.

Sorry this is getting so confusing. Multiple laces. black white white black padded non blah blah blah
 
Ribbon laces and padding ruined the trainers for me IMO

Damb shame cause I love my non-padded pairs. Beastly performance + comfortable = :smokin

Beggers can be chooser now, I wouldnt mind if they are padded or not. They are PERFECT!!
 
I swear this thread has jumped 30 pages mostly due to sizing questions and a padded vs non-padded debate. It's getting ridiculous.

Did the OG laces get untied easier? I'm willing to bet that's more of a money decision than a design decision, unlike the padding. Maybe the ribbon laces offset the price of adding padding.

Reminds me of the Janoskis, which originally came with leather laces. People complained about them getting untied easily but wasn't much of an issue for me. Nike ended up ditching the leather laces for round laces and the spare laces changed from round to flat laces. Pretty sure those changes were made for cost reasons.

I haven't put much miles on mine but i never had that issue so far. 

How about the ppl who actually run and work out in these, did your laces untie easily?

and yes the ribbon laces/padding DOES indeed ruin the flyknit trainer. The only people who think otherwise are people who got into flyknit because they saw kanye wearing them and just got around to getting their first pairs after the 4th or 5th wide scale restock of the black and white trainers. 

as for restocks of OG colorways, if they have the padding and BS laces. keep em. had mine since RD july 2012, no need to settle for imitations of the originals.

I'm talking about anyone that complains about the changes, swears to the original non-padded versions etc., then decides to scoop up multiples of any restocks of the OG c/ws with said changes. That's if Nike decides to do so.

None of my OGs are padded and I scooped my pairs up around the time they were released, yet I can still appreciate a pair that is padded. I WISH Kanye never wore Flyknits. :smh:

I'm just trying to say that the same people who complain about these changes, are more than likely to come back and scoop pairs of the "sought-after" OG c/ws if Nike decides to drop them with the padding.

People complained about the OG laces and lack of padding when these first released. Now people are complaining about the updated laces and padding. People just like to complain. It's life.
 
Kanye honestly has NOTHING to do with this; he isn't that influential. I don't see anybody wearing flyknits around me (NJ). I do like the non-padded version more, but it doesn't make them as hideous as ppl make them seem

True I also think Kanye has nothing to do with the success of the flyknit but there were people earlier in the thread that tried to argue because he wore the white pair that suddenly made flyknits popular which was far from the truth.

Multiple colors sold out on the initial NDC launch way before Kanye wore his pair.
