gotta look on the bright side!

Since flyknits are relatively "weak" when it comes to foot protection against harm, my foot was lightly cut by the metal sheet. It is just a superficial injury and although hurts for now, will befully healed in a few days' time. I was upset more over the sneakers being teared rather than my foot being injured.

Called RRS today to check on my MC Racers & Lunars. They told me lunars ship 7/5 and Racers on 7/12. I don't mind the wait for the $120ish price each though

I called and checked RRS if the black/white on NDC was different from their (RRS) white/black and she has confirmed that its the same SKU.

Is the Trainers true to size?

Are the trainers true to size? Yes, for me they are.  I also go half a size up for Racers.

After having my padded trainers for almost a month, I am sending them back.  The tongue slides way off on the padded version and the overall feel is not the same as the non-padded.  The non-padded are worth the $150, but these are not.

With the FK1s lacking in general right now, It's all OG from now on (and some more Chukkas too once they go on sale).

Kind of a bummer how the FKs have gone downhill since their launch.

For those who have ordered from wiggle, will I have problems receiving the package from them since I forgot to put in the shipping address what state I'm in? I was able to put the city and zip code though.

just because of the padding? does this make sense to anyone else?

I am in total agreement with the anti-padding sentiment. padding is nice, but I just get more of a solid, locked down feeling with the OG trainers. my foot does not move when I run, and I feel the shoe is literally a part of my foot. the lunar 1 are great as well, but non-padded, og tainers are in the upper crest of runners/trainers/casual shoes in my humble opinion.

lol...no difference for me whatsoever, how funny would it be from now on if they don't release another unpadded version, and they become highly sought after a couple of years,as the 'og's' or the 'unpadded' ones...roll.gif

they technically aren't releasing more unpadded versions. the restock of clearance pairs on ndc appears to be a bunch of pairs from outlets or stores that weren't moving the product. these unpadded versions are already sought after more than the updated versions with padding. so, you're late coming up with that summation.

It's already happened.

Look on ebay (from multiple listings):

"**ORIGINAL STYLE WITH THE ROUND LACES AND NO HEEL PADDING**"

"Original shape from the initial release that doesn't have the added bulkiness."

"These have the no padding in the lining area (Pic 8) and the oval laces, they were released on the first run

They are almost impossible to obtain in this condition. Nike since them release a padded version that is Unisex"

"**THIS IS THE ORIGINAL STYLE, WITH THE ROUND LACES, BLACK HEEL, AND NO HEEL PADDING**"

"No heel padding! Original shape from the initial release."

I saw this earlier too. it's not too far off that the seller could be a lurker and swooped on rrs pairs. there's still multi lunar pairs up for almost twice retail. I want to message those fools and say there's a fsr on ndc. crayz

Since we're on the topic of the padding/lace switch...I was curious if Nike made any changes to the racer as far as padding and laces or are they still the same?

The only difference for me is that my heel gets cut up when I wear my non padded without socks. Why I would ever want more of that is beyond me. I would never go so far as to return a pair that's for sure. After my MC gets here that will make pair 6 with a backup white pair.......not sure what other color I would really need. Wear my white and my black pairs the most....the others are sprinkled in when I'm wearing gym shorts and what not.

Not trying to bash on you, but I personally would never wear any sort of runner (or any sneaker for that matter) without socks. Secondly, I wear extremely low cut socks so my feet are in direct contact with the sneakers and even then my non-padded trainers/racers do not irritate the heel of my feet/legs at all. Flyknit is virtually just fabric, how it even manages to scratch your legs is puzzling and the only reason I can think of is that your sneakers are way too tight for you and hence constricting your feet. I've tried both padded and non-padded trainers and all I have to say is that I've quit collecting trainers since the introduction of padding. Luckily for me, racers did not suffer the same fate so I will be more or less strictly collecting racers (except for rare instances where I just can't resist the colorway on a new pair of trainers that I will sacrifice [that's right, sacrifice] my comfort to the padding just to have the colorway).

the heel cup inside the flyknit is what is rubbing against the back of the foot. so no matter how soft the material is, there's still going to be friction. this friction is abrasive to skin that is not used to such contact. this is remedied over time with callous built up.

Looks like I'm the fool here. Skipped right over the most important phrase in the entire exerpt, but then again I would have to go back to my point #1: I don't see why anyone would choose to wear runners (or any sneakers for that matter) sans socks.

In my case the tongue slides over on ALL versions. Padded trainers, non-padded trainers, racers, lunar 1s. But really who cares.

Padding around your ankle doesn't effect the movement of your tongue...

Glad to hear you do not suffer ankle/heel irritation (I don't either). But its not so puzzling when you read/hear of ankle/heel irritation over and over again from multiple NDC members. Its been well documented here and there in these 240 pages. Read through...

Back to the padded argument again? I guess I'll be lurking for a couple of days until this subject dies out again.
