Let us know how the flyknit feels after the paint dries! I would think it would harden but not sure by how much

The paint has completely dried this morning. Surprisingly the mesh is still very flexible given the amount of coats I've applied. The use of the GAC-900 alongside the black angelus acrylic paint has helped in maintaining the flexibility of the flyknit. It is not at all hard and crusty. Very happy with the results :smile:
 
Receiving a pair of Tranquils today from RRS, planning on painting the blue portion of the midsole either black or white/cream. Any opinions?
 
^ Definitely go white.

Nice job on those blackouts. Hopefully they don't fade too dramatically.
 
I second White too.

I'm probably in the minority, but I think that the Black topline is a bad look on Racers (i.e. MCs, Lagoons, Sherbets, etc.)...

Maybe you could leave a strip of Blue on them like the Oreo V1s, so the full White midsole doesn't look too bland.

I'd like to do this as well. Last time I painted shoes, they ended up cracking pretty often since I run in them. Any advice what kind of paint to use if I want to paint and not have any cracks after running? thanks!

Angelus Paint for sure you can't go wrong with. Alot of people use their products to custom their Jordans.

thanks! I think I'm going to go white as well, or maybe one of the green's. Would you apply the paint directly onto the midsole or do you need to prime or coat with anything first?

Always prep any painted surfaces that you're going to paint over with acetone/shoe deglazer to take off the existing paint. It also helps to buy painters tape and mask off areas that you don't want to accidentally paint/spill onto.

Yup, I used a deglazer from Angelus Paint and make sure you buy a finisher, which you'll apply to the area you painted.
