Someone within Nike obviously made a easily correctable mistake with this release. I have seen different shoes, usually Jordans, retro with minor color or detail changes but with the same style code.

This one should have had a totally new style code because it's different enough from both 2014's white tongue (011) and last year's black tongue (002). I don't know if it was a production error or what but easily a big opportunity I hope someone learns from.

FTL doesn't have any white tongues, fyi. Don't blame the CSRs, it's not like they physically handle the products. Their image bank shows white tongue 011, can't fault them for misinformation.

Thanks for the clarification, DEB!

With the Oreos (101), I think it's acceptable that they used the same color code as the initial release since they're VERY VERY similar sans the slightly greyer Top Line. However, with the BWvs, I think using the same color code has brought much confusion. Instead of using 011 as their color code, maybe 017 would be more fitting.

7 = VOLT

Also,

002 = Black/White (Orca Black Tongue)
007 = Black/White/Volt (Oreo + Volt midsole)
011 = Black/White/White (Orca White Tongue)
011 = Black/White (Orca Volt Flywire)
012 = Black/White (Oreo 2.0)
101 = Black/White/Volt (Oreo 1.0)

Each box tag for reference. Long story short, diversify your descriptions Nike...

Well I was hoping I was wrong so I could pick up a pair of Orca's, but it's not a surprise to anyone that frequents this thread that there was a mix up again. This same thing has literally been discussed more than a few times with more than a few shops.

Thanks for the clear up DEB.

did store locator for FTL for the bw racers and it said they had a few in stock near Times Square (nyc), I went to check and it was the bw volts flywire, didn't have any of white tongues

how much did you end up selling for?
330$ shipped to france in 7/10 condition. sz 10.5

crazy to me someone would buy them just cause they have a white tongue vs a black tongue. the white does look better but c'mon not 100-200$ better

All the racer releases I've purchased these last few months have red glue stains on the toes. Some worse than others, either Nike's QC is getting worse or I'm just unlucky when I buy online :/

zammmmn...mine are same size and roughly same condition or better. Got me thinking of moving them now. Been wanting to grab white/black trainers for a min. Could use the funds to fund half of a potential DS pair of trainers lol

Hopefully it causes a chain reaction of FTL and other retailers requesting Nike to make product IDs more specific.

do some of you guys live in a cave in the Himalayas? Because if you don't, just cop and return later man. Its really easy.

Disappointed to hear RRS is going to stop doing phone orders on racers. Doesn't help when 86% of you guys ask the dumbest questions. ''

Kilt the opportunity

Thats what i plan on doing, returning them if they aren't what i expect.

FTL is fully committed to these though. Front page now has a huge banner with the white tongues. I ordered just in case. Worst case scenario I have to tape the box back up and schedule a USPS pickup. Worth the risk I think. That said, based on the full size run still being available, I'm guessing they're BWv's.
