They definitely remind me of Hoka with that chunky midsole, which are highly acclaimed shoes in the running community. With that said, I think the Epic is Nike's answer to Hoka.

I'll purchase the mc's at $75 and under for running.. ugly, but prolly comfy as heck..

I copped these for under $100 (with codes and gift cards). They're kinda like a "poor man's" Terre de Fue HTM lol

Got them to actually run in. Hopefully Nike's suggestion to go up a half a size holds true :nerd:

I wonder if the ankle collar can be chopped on these to make them a "low"?

I'm sure Nike will drop a low version sooner or later..
 
I think the knit collar on those epics is the main reason they will flop. Nike needs to make shoes for two markets.... One is for the runners and one is for the casual public. Those shoes won't be bought and worn causally because that sock liner makes them look somewhat ridiculous. For running in them, I am sure it is nice, but Nike is producing a lot of them from what it seems. I think I am going to wait until they hit the sale racks.

It might sound a bit sexist, but in my experience I find that the lady's are much more sympathetic with their discounts. The dudes have only given me 10% and 15%s, especially when I felt it was more warranted for a discount code (based on nikes history). Try going for the lady's. That might help. I'll test it out later today to see if I can get a 20% code for my greys.

Racers have become my second favorite shoe model but I love RRS even more for facilitating that love. Honestly would have stopped after MC2s (which remains the only colorway I have paid resale for) if it wasn't for their discounts.

just got another 20% code from nike email as well. checked to see if it was the same code they gave me a few days ago but it wasn't :lol:
