Hopefully the lack of pages in this thread compared to other threads is a sign of the interest from sneaker-heads. Of course the general public and celebrities are a another beast. Hopefully the demand is high enough for Nike to continue to make them, but low enough where we can all cop multiple pairs/colors without great hardship.

Was at the trials today and like other people said, they only had the blue pair and the red pair. They were buy by appointment only and you had to do a 20 minute custom fitting before you bought a pair. Also they told me that the volts wouldn't be releasing at the trials, but sometime after in a limite release of course. These shoes are so dope though honestly, pictures do NOT do these justice at all. I am so hyped. couple lame cell pics

As some have noted, the purchase availability for the flyknits was very "locked down" - in order to buy, you had to schedule a fitting, and that fitting would only be for your size. Therefore, I was unable to secure anything for anyone including myself, as my extended family is not my size or anything close to it. My apologies for not being able to come through in spite of the fact I had people there throughout the week. Somewhat disappointing, but at the same time, somewhat encouraging that NIKE didn't make this release such that people could capitalize off of it who essentially had no interest beyond re-selling. It would seem pairs got in the hands of primarily those that wanted them for themselves for their own purposes. Kudos to NIKE for that. Good luck to everyone looking for these down the road. Any and all info related to releases and drops is always appreciated. Stay tuned.

Could you clarify what "schedule a fitting" meant? Was it just a control in place so individuals could only purchase their size or is there something more to it? Thanks.

I think its like the Apple Genius Bar. You get there and like schedule an appointment for a spot in 30 mins or so.

So what's a good price for the trials trainers?
Has anyone heard news that the red and blue colorways will stay a trials exclusive or will we see a much wider release when they drop around July 20th?
I just don't want to pay a premium to find out later I could get them for retail if I waited a month.

Me personally , I wouldn't pay much beyond 250/300, depending on how much you want them. I can understand if its your exact size and you absolutely love the CW maybe a little bit more, but SMH

I spoke with a few spots and no one really knows anything about them other than sometime this month. They said they don't know about quantities or colors. They did say Nike is doing some sort of training this weekend and that they will know more after that. I have the feeling these will not be readily available which sucks because I want them to run in. If anyone knows any spots in Chicago getting them pm me. Thanks!

You and me are in the same boat. i was trying to hook up a NTER for retail, not trying to make a buck. Also am big into running and wanted a pair for myself. very disappointed I wasn't able to get a pair. This is what is really wrong with people now, is no appreciation for anything about the shoes, technology, and or history of them- the place of certain shoes and styles, etc... All about bending folks over and max profiting once or twice versus long term picture. I was hoping to help folks out for relatively reasonable (nowhere near 300 even) if I could get my hands on pairs, but apparently thats not in the cards. INDIANA bound- I wish you well. I will wait for the GRs and hope they aren't ridiculously limited.

hopefully theyll be readily available. dont get the point of making these hard to get esp since i feel like most people will want to test them out and prob end up using on a frequent basis.

I know a few people have chimed in on sizing, with some saying TTS and some saying go .5 down. I know it all depends on your foot, but for me they fit much better going .5 down.
There was too much excess on the outside of the toebox that creased around the edge of my toes when taking a step.
Also, I didn't see this pair of racers posted yet. Maybe it will be a GR since most of the other shoes on display at the event where this was taken were GRs as well (I think).

"Nike sold 400 pairs of Flyknit Trainers at the trials, and so being a runner, I had to pick up a pair (91st pair!). Since getting them on Saturday, I've put about 60 miles on them, and would like to share my first impressions.
I would first like to talk about the fitting process, which I had never been through with any other pair of shoes. I had to schedule a "fitting appointment" two days in advance, and be fitted with a general size (9.5...I normally wear a 10 or 10.5, but these shoes are meant to fit like a glove). On Saturday, they brought out a pair (I received red...the two colors were red and blue, and the color you would get wasn't guaranteed) and I tried them on, confirming that it was the right size. After this, they were "steamed" to a high temperature, and I had to put them back on, while still hot. The shoes then constricted down to form an exact mold of my foot, and after around an hour of walking around in them, my foot would not slip at all while in the shoe.
I've taken the shoes out for a couple of long, slower runs, and an 8 mile tempo run (training for the 5k). The shoes were fantastic. I've trained in the Zoom Elite before, and the Flyknits had more cushioning, while still maintaining a feel very similar to the Zoom Streak (marathon race shoes). On the tempo run, the shoes felt amazing, like I was running on clouds, but they weren't slowing me down.
The basic gist of the shoe is that it is a high cushion trainer that fits like a glove and is extremely lightweight.
Forgot to add: the Flyknit material feels extremely durable, and I expect the shoes to last 450-500 miles. Also, these do not have the Lunar midsole, as speculated, they are a neutral shoe."

these, id like to think would mostly appeal to true enthusiast.
would LOVE to have that blk/grey/wht/volt pair of trainers. such a different look for a running shoe. i could def see these catching people off guard...

Some interesting points were made in that thread, especially the one about the steam fitting. Which I wonder... will retailers be trained and given the equipment to be able to do the same thing once they're available on the shelves?

I doubt the stream fitting will be translated on a larger scale. While the idea seems good, if they did outside of those events Nike won't install and train a vast amount of people so it would probably be restricted to shops like 21 mercer and we all know about the abusive that can translate from given any store that power. I hope they don't restrict it to 21 type shops, that would make it hard to purchase and bring in unnecessary attention.
In other news, that orange pair in the GQ article, not even fair....
