^^i know this is rehashed all the time

but if we're voting.

Unpadded wayyyy> padded...i feel like they don't look that different, but the feel and comfort of the shoe is vastly superiorl.

i personally didn't care at all, until i felt the difference

I wouldn't say comfort has anything to do with it, but they are a more sleeker shoe than the padded. They are astectically nicer. Being "OG" has nothing to do with it. Atleast for me it doesn't.

Time to warp back over 100+ to start this debate agin

U really think theres no comfort difference between padded and unpadded??

I don't even mind them to be honest- sure, unpadded would of been my preference but at $110 apiece I definitely can't complain.

Just a visual eyesore for us is all, but as long as you like them it's all good. Congrats!

Most dudes who complain about padded vs unpadded are trying to feel like an "OG" by having unpadded trainers.

Swear they got the equivalent of OG jays smh
It has nothing to do with feeling "OG", I own both unpadded and padded and they're both comfortable, I just prefer how they look without the padding. Let's be honest here, would you prefer the jumpman over NA on your Jordans? Probably not.

most of you guys who complain about padded vs unpadded dont even run in your shoes and just wear it casually. To that point it doesnt matter if its padded or unpaded.
You totally missed the point here, it's about aesthetics over comfort for most people on here. How many people on this forum you think actually hoop in their J's?

OP can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he purchased both pairs for $220 total, which is a steal.

Indeed- not to mention on a shoe that's almost two years old and fetches for more than twice that price on ebay.

I'm pretty sure OP bought both for 220

Correct.

^^^^^ This...Guys, do you even read....he cop for $ 110 each...a steal padded or not !!!!!!!

I don't see the big difference from padded or not- the only thing I notice that's different is the laces.

Now sell me those White / Black Trainers for $200 and you have almost got the Black / White for free ... that is a real steal!
... Do it ...

Haha- the white ones are actually my current favorite pair of FK's- didn't even like them at first seeing I thought they were too plain but seeing them in the flesh made me a believer. They look clean and will go with all my bright odd color stuff. Perfect summer pair.

Oh, and I unDS'ed them to attend a family dinner at a nice restaurant,so it looks like I'll have to keep the now. Hah.

Paying extra for style and comfort you prefer is foolish? Okay.
In my opinion, yes. The difference imo is not substantial enough to pay extra for it. To each his own.

The switch to ribbon laces is a bigger deal to me than the switch to the padded collar.

I think he is trying to say it shouldn't make that much of a difference, but it's like the argument between the Nike Air vs Jumpman. It's one detail that changed but an important one to most ppl on here.

Btw the more we talk about the preference of unpadded trainers the more the prices rise on eBay

Exactly. I do understand the argument but its pointless. Ive seen numerous people pass up deals on padded white/black and black/white trainers because they wanted to hunt down unpadded ones. And this was around when they were going for $96 on NDC last summer. Dudes probably ended paying double for the unpadded which is just absurd.

But like I said, to each their own.

IMO the unpadded ones look sleeker, different than any other shoe. The collar hugs your ankle a lot tighter. There is a reason the htm versions still won't be padded. The htm free were un padded even though they made the switch to ribbon laces.

I remember that! I pulled the trigger on the whites because it was too good to pass up and I needed them badly. Would I prefer unpadded of course, but i black and white unpadded trainers are very tough to come by now. I suggest you guys hop on a deal if you find one on unpadded because in the end if an unpadded does come up, we will have a bidding war on our hands EVERY TIME. The person with the most money willing to drop will get them end of story.

I honestly think it's outrageous some of the prices the racers are going for knowing they were on CLEARANCE! THESE THINGS SAT!! I've learned the best time to buy a racer is when they go on sale, which always happens. After that, some weird thing happens that one person puts up a price of $300 (exaggerating to a certain extent) for a shoe they got for $80 and suddenly we all need it now. AKA HYPE!

@Andrepad

That's sneakers in general these days though. People want what they can't have and also the fact that the more limited the availability the higher the price shoots.

Cyber & Speed Yellow were afterthoughts for Roshes in 2012 but a year later so many members were willing to pay over a 50% markup because the pairs available weren't in abundance. The most egregious example of recent is the Kobe IX Elite Low - there's absolutelY no way the grey and black pairs fetch their asking prices without the HTM hype machine.

But that's the nature of the game now. Who could have predicted super secret links needed to buy shoes or entering raffles not for free pairs, but for the honor to buy them.

Hell, I even fell victim to the changing times. I bought the blacks unpadded for $53 in 2012 and sold on eBay not to long after because I felt the performance difference wasn't that different from all my Free 3.0s I was snagging for ~$30. Now I'm paying $250 for whites because of the limited pairs floating in an extremely rare size.

On one hand I think that if I was patient and waited for the clearance code I could literally get almost 5 pairs for that price. But sometimes you gotta stop overanalyzing and allow yourself to live a little.

Fools trying to be elitist putting down the padded version

Theres nothing aesthetic between a padded collar and a unpadded collar.  it looks almost the same, especially when you wear them.

Comfort wise, the shoes is already so comfortable, the comfort between padded and unpadded  is minimal. The only real debate between padded and unpadded is if you run in them, and that is all just preference.

getting the W/B B/W trainers for retail is a steal. If you are going to pass on them, pm me and ill buy them if its my size.

People puting up a dabate between the NA on the back of jordans...please go back to the jordans thread.
