What do you guys do to stop this?

I tried some of those stick on pads but they never stay in place

Certain shoes I can't even wear without my heel being bruised and blistered.

Wear higher socks man. I have this problem with high tops (most Jordan's) and I just wear Nike ankle socks and I'm fine.

i only rock ankle socks though, i hate long socks
but even if the sock is covering that part it still rubs

I roll with regular nike crew socks with everything I wear besides chucks and sperrys. For those, I bust out my GFs socks.

Higher socks fixes the problem, though the problem is that you forget to wear higher socks when you wear a particular shoe with that problem

All my socks are over my ankle, but I need to wear the ones with more padding, so it doesn't rub on my heel.

This happens to me when I wear Alden loafers in certain lasts. I use a combination of a tongue pad, and a heel pad to prevent heel slippage. The Walgreen's ones are pretty soft and adhere to the shoes quite well. Thicker/long shoes can be a help as well. The cause of this might either be that your feet are too narrow, your shoe size is half a size too big, or the last just isn't for you.

This is why I hate wearing my II's.
By the time I get home i'll be sliding instead of walking cause of the pain.

wear higher socks and wear the shoe correctly so its not moving around and rubbing your heel

1) Wear bandaids on the back of your heel
2) wear thigh high socks, American apparel sells some nice ones

This is what I use on when I wear certain shoes that rub against my achillies while wearing ankle socks.

Wear elite socks..
Don't even have to cop the long elite socks.

You can buy Nike's mid-cut socks that are just 1-2 inches above the ankle.

Haven't worn no-show socks since I stopped wearing pumas in middle school.
