THE HUNGER GAMES: May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor

Read the book in 2 days before going to the movie last night. Great book, great movie.
Only part that really bugged me was the shaky camera during most fight scenes.

You won't understand a lot of the side story references from the book that I don't wanna get into cause I don't wanna spoil it. But yeah, you can appreciate it.

The movie did the book justice. I like how the world was realized. The capital looked very much like how I thought it would and most of the characters did too (except the female careers

) I thought Haymitch would look sloppier/drunker. He was too Woody Harrelson. I wish they had described the town a bit more. Not sure why cutting out Madge was necessary.

should have definitely described in a bit more depth that the beasts at the end were the tributes. definitely bumps up the horror of the entire situation.

Still, with all that being said, great movie. Jennifer Lawrence is absolutely beautiful. My buddy who had never read the books said he'd watch the film again just to see her

Madge was cut out due to time and lets be honest she ain't that important.

"blah blah blah here's the pin!" *dies off screen at the end of book 2

sans the awesome costumes/awesome hair and makeup [nh] the film was pretty darn boring. I'd wish they'd spent less time on the "game" felt like the movie wasn't going to end and 12 minutes later they wrap the entire plot up...felt a little "middle heavy"

Saw this after reading the book and found the movie pretty underwhelming. The character development was poor, as were the action sequences. I feel like if they took out all the extra nonsense with gamemakers they would have time to develop the characters more.

On a side note, The Raid came out yesterday. +$%$ a Hunger Games.

I don't think Madge is that minor of a character. Other than Gale, Prim, Greasy Sae, and her mom, who else did she give even the slightest of @@**$ about? Madge befriending her and giving her the mockingjay pin broke class barriers. It also made it personal when the town got fire-bombed and she died. It showed that the capital was indiscriminate about who they chose to make an example of.
They should have spent less time on the game makers.

In the time it took you to type this out and reply, you could have just looked it up on Google.

Don't care about the comparisons/similarities to other films, and I didn't read the book.

Movie was dope as hell. I was impressed by the execution/vision of the story.

I could have.

Is it worth to watch? Yes, the film is entertaining and you don't need to read the book to understand the concept of the movie.

Movie was boring. I waited 1.5 hours for them to get to the Hunger Games and that wasn't even all that. Was expecting more blood, guts and epic deaths. I didn't read the book so I guess I just wasn't into it.

Read the books and thought they were entertaining...

saw the movie and thought it was a complete waste of dough

I know books are always better, but in this case without getting into her thought process and with the necessary deletions, I thought the movie gave up way too much

I thought the movie went by FAST.
Understandable since its a good size book.
I just wanted the relationships to be more detailed. Her ad Rue, I wanted to see more of Foxface and her last scene depicted.
I wanted Hatmich character to have more screen time.
Madge
Was still a great film. If you didn't read the book te movie explains everything.
It was a dark movie too. I didn't expect it. No forced comedy

These were my issues too... Minus Foxface, she wasn't depicted much in the book so I was fine with her screen time.

But I would've loved to see them go into more depth about Haymitch, more time developed to Rue & Katniss short time as well as the Katniss/Peeta relationship.

But overall I felt like the movie was pretty much on par with the book minus the way she got the MockingJay pin.  Very Good Movie.

I just got back from watching this and the theater was PACKED,

chick next to me was balling when Rue died.
I loved the movie and even though they left things out and changed some I thought it was really good.

I do strongly agree that the shaky camera was distracting when they were fighting, especially the last fight scene. Or maybe it was because I had to sit in the 3rd row of the theater.

Overall I was impressed with the movie as a whole, I was gonna watch it in IMAX but %!%+ was sold out.

When Thresh slammed Clove some guy yelled out "You go my brother" and the whole theater was rollin

I just saw it it was pretty good, I have the book I just never got the time to read it. I wish this was rated R so they could show gore, and more killing scenes.

If you haven't seen the movie stop reading here!

I enjoyed the movie up until they stated changing the rules. I wasn't feeling the couples from the same district could win. I was looking forward to the dilemma.

Just got back from seeing this film. Never read the book. Really don't see all the hype about the movie. Movie about teenagers killing each other? Surprise it isn't more backlash from this.
Josh Hutcherson "Peeta" is actually a good friend of mines. Cool dude in person, always good seeing people you know doing well!
