Brazil 2014 World Cup

I would love to go. But I think I will pass and try to go to Rio for the 2016 Olympics instead.
Maybe catch some matches in that tournament. wont be as good as the World Cup, but there will be other things going on as well.

Me and my crew def want to do this. We don't want to go to any games but def want to be in the area around the time. We are going to begin planning soon, If any NT is familiar on good places to stay at, or have a plan already, please PM me. I just want to be in the area and explore the beautiful beaches, woman, etc.

I have the money and would love to go

But Brazil is too suspect

Something wrong could happen

I went to 5 World cup games when the US hosted it in 1994

Italy vs Mexico was the best game I went to

Unless ur a die hard futbol fan, the best
Time to go to Brasil would be before next
Year & the olympics. After that the prices
For everything will be astronomical.

Plus theres the uprise of people protesting
Against the gov't because they feel like they're
Not getting fair treatment and the money funding
These events is gonna get pocketed & not dispersed
Properly.

I had a ball when I went in may for 3-4 days
And spent ~$500 total not including flights

i really wanna go and ive been talking about it for a while but it just seems like im reaching plus im going to be spending like 10k or more on that

I've pretty much given up on my dream vacation, the 2014 World Cup. With my current situation--living in an apartment (wanting a house in Seattle) and just coming back from Brazil from our honeymoon, spending 6-8k seems very irresponsible at the moment. Now me, family and friends are planning & saving our extra funds for the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro. It is definitely going to hurt the pockets more for the Olympics, but if we start saving now it shouldn't be an issue. To those still looking:

1. Airbnb.com for apartment rentals.
2. MATCH via Fifa for hotels
3. Homeaway.com

I believe the first wave of tickets will be distributed on August 20th.

Enjoy to all of you that make it. I will be there in spirit. Please revert back to this thread when ya come back with pics. I'm sad man. :x

Anyone by plane tickets yet? Friend invited me to come with him but i'll have to pay for my plane ticket, food, etc. Dont have to pay for a place to stay since he has family down there.

That's awesome bro because hotels are expensive. Flight from LA is showing around 1800 to Rio. Missed a deal that went live on my bday and sold out in a couple hours, flights were 1200. Right now my trigger price is 1600 for a flight that has only two stops max.

About to pull the trigger on two hotel rooms, one in Rio and the other one in punta negra, Natal. Rio is about 3700 for 15 nights but Natal option is 1300 by the beach 4 star resort.

Depending on the draw I will cancel one of the options.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday. Good Luck!

Can't wait!

anyone in on the packages the american outlaws or sams army US supporters are going to offer . looks like they will be giving out the info end of dec early january . est$ 4500-5400 for flight 13 days hotel . rides to all three USA games . does not include tickets to the matches and your spending money for the 2 weeks obviously . i have about 5 k saved hoping to have close to 7k by then .

I just wanted to get NikeTalk's opinion on something. How would you guys feel about booking a bed in a shared room, a private room in an apartment, or a whole apartment in a Favela for the World Cup (similar to how it works on Airbnb)? Also, would you feel comfortable booking it through a crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo? Also, if the answer is no for either question could you either explain why or if you want send me a PM.

Just to give some background on why I'm asking I'm a college student doing a extracurricular consulting project for Favela Experience (if you want more info PM me or google them). I'm helping to design a crowd funding campaignrenting rooms in Favelas for the World cup the owners of the rooms get 70% of the proceeds. It goes live in December. But anyway I just wanted to get Niketalk's opinion on Favelas and if they'd book through a crowd funding campaign since we have a diverse community here. I don't want to break any rules so I won't post any links or advertise further or anything, but feel free to PM me if you just want information.

I'm just asking. It's not an uncommon practice currently. I'm just trying to get different people's opinions whatever they may be. It's just an option for people who want to save on lodging. Obviously, it's not for everyone. I figured I'd ask NT since we have people from all over and different demographics here.

Applied for tickets to follow group stage for Korea for 2014 WC with a close friend of mine. The hard part I think for us will be following Korea depending on where they play but I am definitely excited for this and want to go before I get older as I want to do this while I am not married etc and I'm bummed out that I missed out on WC while it was in Korea. Can't wait for this trip!!! Anyone heading out of California for this? I'll be flying out of LAX via korean air to sao paulo.

I applied for tickets based on the city - chose Rio de Janiero. We will see how my luck plays out :nerd:

You should check your cc to make sure they don't block the transaction. A lot people have verified that their accounts have been withdrawn. I haven't been so lucky! I applied for tst 3 to follow the USA.

I'm also flying out of LAX. Staying in Rio for the the first round.

Good Luck!
