And the battle should have taken place in the daytime, but, as a rule, any deviations should be attributed to the budget and possible embezzlement by network execs

So Tywin is just going to come in at the last 5 mins of the episode and just shut everything down? Yep I would call that Boss.

Please tell me that Tyrion survives, PLEASE!!!

How are they going finish this season in one more episode

Just finished watching. Great great episode. Did as well as they possibly could have with a budget. The wildfire execution was amazing

The Hound "%*+% the king"

Cersei is insane

Tywin saving the day like a seasoned vet

Joffery really is a true punk

70 minute finale should be great, a lot of loose ends to tie up but I already know its going to leave everybody wanting more...

Found this interesting. Spoiler to those who havent seen season 1.

Spoiler [+]
After Ned’s beheading Joffrey takes Sansa to admire Ser Ilyn Payne’s handiwork - but someone you don’t expect is sat on a spike at the Red Keep. The head to the left of Septa Mordane is actually George W. Bush wearing a wig. “It’s not a political statement

I have read the Bible, Shakespeare and many of the classical Athenian plays. George RR Martin draws on all three sources and more. The episode covers almost every universal and important human theme. It discusses life, death, courage, cowardice, manliness, feminism, courage, phobias, child birth, warfare, rape, treason, leadership, political power and religion.

This episode was modern in that it covered the various matrices of privilege (is it better to be a middle class man or a wealthy women or a noble hostage or a common sell sword?) and it also acted like a classical drama.

I believe that Breaking Bad is a better overall show but I also believe that this episode is as good any one episode that Breaking Bad has produced. Tyrion does what Walter White has done. He does what he had hitherto never believed he could even do. Tyrion leads the sortie party after the King and the Hound had run off in disgrace.

The formula for the ending was not special but its execution was. Cersei's line about Bears in the North and Foxes in the South and "Birds in the Sky and all of the Creatures in the the Sea" was almost Biblical. The timing of Tywin and the deliverance of Cersei and Tommen and Joffrey et al. was perfectly timed with the music and the atmosphere of the episode was flawless.

I will admit, I shed a single tear at the end of that episode.

The Reynes is why I wept. If the outro had been more action based, not a single damb would have been given. When it was the acapella Reynes, I had the means to think and reflect upon the episode. It made be think about my own powerful kin* and how precarious life is. As a result, that single manly tear rolled down my right cheek.

* If California and the West actually fell into Civil War. I would be charged with holding Ventura County and Los Angeles (especially the garrison in the 818). My Tywinesque Grandfather would feint North, from the OC, head South and gather forces from Mexico and Texas (where my uncle would act as regent for my over previleged and underaged first cousins) and and as I would be about to ingest a cyanide capsule with my own little nephews and cousins, grandpa Rex would blast back into LA, with a million eses and I would be reaffirmed with the Golden State crown (with my Cholo buddies recieving all sorts of high honors).

From there, the Northwest would fall and my grand father would lure President Obama into a fancy rouge wedding. After that victory, Muscles Glasses is named Warden of Canada and the War is all but finished. The King of the English is now the true Rex Anglorum and North America is now in the rightful hands.

You under estimate how shrewd and mean the Winters-Cassio camp can be. After one week of blockades of the Oregon, Washington and BC ports, the heroin hipsters would be baggeing to fly the Ermine-Roaster banners.

After that, a mere march East would cause the White House to give us a reset button, in crappy Spanish. Finally, we win.

After that al we have would to worry about would be some hipster chick, who is studying abroad in Europe. She might have learned how to hatch and control dragons but by such time Winters-Cassio, is running things.

Nothing could go wrong, it will be Book Six and our Author will not live to see Book number Seven.

Tywin is one of my fav characters. Perfect actor to play the role, even though every time I see him, I think of the last action hero lol..

Can't wait to see what exactly the house of the undying is and the *%%* that's about to happen within the Lannister camp once Tyrion remembers what happened to him and Sansa/Hound situation...

Agreed, but I remember him as the King from Your Highness.

That would be awesome if all are true. Reeds
pimp.gif

The Reeds should have been introduced already
True and now I wonder how are they going to do it

^
I can see the Reeds being introduced pretty easily.  They're just appearing later in the story arc.

Weird that they wait until next season to introduce Stannis' ugly wife and daughter.  The way the story is now, it can work without them ever being introduced.

I need me some ramsay. I wish Michael Pitt would play him. For some reason I think it'd work.
