Coffee Drinkers: Come In

Those Keurig K cup machines are really bad for the environment. The cups can't be recycled due to how they're put together, so they're overflowing in landfills across the nation.
And since using the reusable adapter they give you makes mostly liquid crap, i returned mine.

I've wanted to try an aeropress, like you said, people love them. I do like my french press but I'm not always a fan of the sludge/fine grounds that can get through, and the aeropress is supposed to prevent that.

They're really popular and easy for those who want to do zero work to make coffee. Personally, a simple drip machine takes 30 seconds to get going... add coffee + water and that's it. You can get a good variety of flavors, but since they're pre-packaged and already ground, it won't be as fresh as if you ground the beans yourself. But if you just want the occasional cup or want to have coffee available for people and not worry about making it or cleaning up, they're a smart choice.

I usually use a Keurig machine from work but they don't really taste that good, especially since I don't drink hot coffee. I have to wait til its room temperature before I even touch it.

I need to start making my own ice brews. Unsweetened ice brews are my favorite but I also love the Iced Mocha White Chocolate from SB.

When I brew @ home I usually make bustelo, sometimes 8 o' clock. When I'm out I grab Americanos @ Starbucks or local shops. Take it with a splash of low-fat milk, no sugar.

I'm not a big fan of coffee but I was Portugal 12 years ago and we got a set menu deal at a local restaurant. They came out with something that looked like that at the end - it was like rocket fuel but it was delicious.

Still never found out what it was.

Just finished brewing a pot of Pike Place Starbucks in my 15 dollar Costco coffee pot.  One of my few actual "hookups" is that when I'm on the go, I usually only pay for every other or every third cup of coffee (pike place) @ my local Starbucks.  I probably could be a coffee snob, but what's the point.  I am looking for cheap, quick, caffeine to ensure I have no headaches later in the day.  I drink it black typically and occasionally with cold skim milk to take the heat off and consume quicker.  Necessary evil IMO.

I've been using the Nespresso machine, and so far not bad. Not the best espresso money can buy, but it does the job. I'm a fan.

I French press coffee from the local shop at home. The place is wonderful. The owner has been at it for 19 years now. He roasts everything himself at one of the two shops they have. He goes all over Central/South America and Africa himself to bring back the best beans. It's awesome.
When I start residency, I'll get a nice espresso machine to pair up with my French press. My mainstays are traditional cappuccinos, Americanos and macchiatos.

i have a keurig, and the kcups just got to be too expensive for daily consumption when compared to buying a bag of beans or already grinded coffee.
there are some reeeaally easy tricks you can do to make sure that it doesnt spray water everywhere when using the reusable adapter thing.

now have had the keurig for a year, havent used an actual kcup in 6 months. takes twice as long due to the prep of the reusable cup, but the extra 2 min is worth it.

I've got one of those at work - pretty good but the pods are expensive and I can only find the branded ones - I don't know anyone who makes cheaper ones.

We got a new machine at home that the local store sells generic pods for and they're much cheaper.

i got the wifey a keurig from costco for christmas.. she loves it, she drinks about a cup or 2 a day... i drink a little every now and then...

What's everyone's favorite instant coffee? I kinda like mine sweet ..

I'm not particular with my coffee. Mom got me a Keurig for Christmas

. Also, FYI you don't have to only use the K cups, you can grind your own and put it in the filter in the Keurig and make it. Mine came with a regular coffee filter for coffee grinds. I'm not a coffee snob, however, I CANNOT drink iced coffee. Give me the bubble guts.

I drink a lot of coffee but to be honest, i'm not that particular about it. like someone mentioned above "ignorance is bliss" and so I am keeping my blinders on for the time being.

I drink mostly k-cups cause thats what we have at the office and its more a matter of convenience. Weekends I will just run my drip coffee machine and put some Peets French Roast in, or walk down to the Coffee Bean or Starbucks if I'm feeling lazy.

Only black for me, I cant really mess with cream or sugar or anything like that.

Yeah I've only found the Nespresso branded pods for them. But it's not too bad. I'm usually a double shot drinker, so two pods a day is still cheaper than going to Starbucks for me. (unfortunately where I live it's Starbucks or crap coffee.) It's pretty much under a dollar per shot. Sometimes I do one regular espresso shot and then reuse the pod for another one. It's a lighter brew but it still tastes decent.

I only drink African coffee, Ethiopian most of the time and Tanzania Peaberry when I want to switch it up. Ethiopian coffee(Ethiopia Harrar especially) is, IMO, the most unique tasting and smoothest tasting single-origin in the world.
I recommend freezing your coffee if you plan on using it for more than a week. If it was already a week old when you first got it then I would start buying from a local roaster.
