Coffee Drinkers: Come In

Good gawd the Aeropress makes some of the best coffee I've ever had. I really wish I had this while I was in school. I can't even drink my K-Cups anymore. Also my girls Nespresso makes Vertuoline makes some delicious coffee. Can't think of a reason to go to Starbucks unless I was traveling or desperate.

Duncan donuts is the truth
They need some Duncan k cups

And I don't understand how people drink Starbucks...when I get a reg coffee the **** is terrible

I felt the same way. It really is great coffee. It's not going to compare to a legit espresso machine, of course, but for less than 30 bucks.. it's amazing.

I don't knock Keurig because it serves a good purpose, but the Aeropress is great. You can do a quick and simple coffee, you can mix it up and do things like the inverted methods and change up brew times, you can make at home lattes (which is what I do), there's a lot of options possible.

I've tried the inverted technique and I don't see the difference, but I perhaps have to mess around with it more. I followed this guide http://stumptowncoffee.com/brew-guides/aeropress/

Any tips you have? I usually just boil the water for 3 minutes and it's about 205* Fahrenheit, I also switched to almond milk instead of regular creamer. Any blends you'd recommend? Ordered some beans from Stumptown Coffee will report.

I followed that guide for a little too.

I also tried this one that I basically follow more or less.

2 Scoops worth of coffee, inverted, I don't measure the water temp exactly I just wait about a minute or so after it's about to boil. Fill it up to the top, stir, let it steep for about 90 seconds, press, then fill the rest with water if I want regular coffee or I have a small frothing wand I bought for like 10 bucks that I use to froth up hot milk for lattes. To be honest, I probably couldn't tell the difference between the regular method and what I do... but I like it so that works

I've really enjoyed Intelligentsia coffee lately, either their El Diablo dark roast or their Black Cat espresso roast.

What I absolutely dig about Blue Bottle versus say Peets is they get the temp right almost every time.

Bump, about to cop an aeropress. I live right down the street from a trader joes and whole foods so I'm gonna sample some stuff from both.

Been searching for a coffee thread
I loved Rose Park roasters back when I still lived in the LBC. They offer to deliver fresh beans to your doorstep via bike :nthat:
Mostly order my "good" coffee from stumptown now and brew it with a beehouse. French Press is my other method of choice, I need a chemex though, or that new gadget from Able brewing.

Anyone mess with with bulletproof coffee? seems to be the new trend. I've tried it a few times and it's not so bad

I drink way too much coffee. Makes me pee 12 times a day

I love all kinds of coffee. I dont mind bodega coffee. Those $1 cups in the AM right before the train is clutch.

Toasted almond coffee from DD is the truth. Starbucks plain coffee is cool too.

Trying to watch my sugar so usually use Sweet and Low but if I have French Press or Spanish type coffee ill stick with regular sugar.

Anyone ever had bulletproof coffee?

I made some before with coconut oil from costco, unsalted butter, added some cacao powder and blended it all together.
Combination of all the ingredients sounds odd but it does have a frothy taste to it. Most people add some kind of flavoring to it as drinking it straight up isn't as enjoyable. I know it's a popular drink amongst avid runners. It's supposed to substitute for an entire meal, not supplement it.

I just use ny french press. Nothing fancy, I just drink it black. Occasionally I'll make some cold brew coffee in it.

I was straight up addicted to coffee for a bit. Was drinking excessive amounts but I gave it all up about 3 months ago because I was getting really bad heart burn from it. Didn't think I was going to be able to quit but I did fairly easily.

When I did drink coffee tho, I loved Starbucks Iced Coffee. Black, light ice, unsweetened, and maybe a shot or two of espresso.

The worst thing that could've happened to me was the introduction of McDonalds making their coffee for K-Cups. Went to Sam's and I'm set.

...that cuban coffee from the lil spanish spot next to my job is the devil 8)

dk wut to do :smh::smh:
