The Nike Air Pressure, one of Tinker's earlier creations. `89-`90 I believe???? It was our "answer" to reebok's pump. Needless to say it didn't fare very well. One of our "not so great moments" in the history of the company haha.

those were over 220 in 1990.....ONLY straight up cocaine dealers owned pairs of those.

^ Poise3 - Rob Strasser and Peter Moore are partners that ran Sports Incorporated ( a Portland-based firm that creates and launches sports brands). Theylaunched Van Grack and Adidas equipment, and PF Flyer. Adidas Equipment was successful and bought by Adidas. Strasser died in 93. Not sure what Moore is doing.I don't wanna take the time to look it up on the internet.

I do remember seeing those on the feet of streetballers in 89....

, is still very much with us. In fact, he re-designed andreleased the Air Force 1 2007. He also is the Director of Advanced Research and Development for Nike. He designed the original Air Force 1back in `82, Dunks, and SHOX.

He's working on quite a few things right now. I can't say much, but it's mostly architectural designs, such as the soon-to-be new video scoreboardat Hayward Field that he exclusively designed for the `08 Olympic Trials in Eugene; and a concentration on the Considered Line. He's a busy man!

Went through some of Tinker's patents... didn't realize how many of Agassi's shoes he's been apart of...

Ahh yes, the Air Challenge LWP. Worn during the "bald, hoop earrings, do-rag wearing" days of Agassi. Part of the LWP(LightWeight Performance) series. Another popular shoe from that line was the Air Go LWP. I believe Penny, Chris Mullin, TimHardaway, Reggie Miller, and a few others wore it??? A classic.

It was a couple of the Nike designers that contributed, but I don't think he had a part.

He is simply a genius, a good mentor, and a genuinely nice and humble guy. Those of you who went to the Nike Eugene Store(which happens to be his favorite one)awhile back and were EXTREMELY LUCKY enough to get those AJ V sketches that were personally signed and numbered by him know what I'm talking about, and can attest to his extreme generosity and cool personality. *paging B1LLY HOYLE* haha

No, Tinker DID NOT do the Wade 2.0's, contrary to popular belief.

Dwayne Lawrence, a Converse designer designed them.

MenofOregon- lots of nice info you're giving out in this post- I'm a huge Tinker fan so I'm loving it.

Yes. He tells me that him and Mike argue all the time over which one is his best. Tinker's favorite Air Jordan is the XI.

I believe he said that Mike's favorite is:

absolutely my favorite Agassi shoe ever.

I wonder what the lines on the uppers are meant to represent.

If you're asking about the "zigzag" pattern towards the back of the shoe, it's merely a reference to Agassi's "loud, unconventional, animalistic, new-wavish, wild-style" that he personified early in his career with the long hair and all.

no I mean all the little lines on the uppers of every shoe shown here. It's not really a detail.

I've heard MJ say 3 times that his fave's are the III, XI, and XIII.

Yes, he did. And previous to that he worked for reebok. He won't say directly that he worked for Nike because of the "sour" ending thathe, Rob Strasser, and Mr. Knight had. Oddly enough, he made a huge contribution to our company by creating the Air Jordan "wings" logo. I guess"BUSINESS IS BUSINESS" for real in this world.

Getting a little off-topic here, but Mr. MenofOregon... would you happen to know the story behind Agassi's departure from Nike? it seemed like Adidas'willingness to contribute to Agassi's charity sealed the deal...
