The Thread About Nothing...

People want it on Saturday because it'll be easier without work the next day -- BUT, people still treat Sunday like it's another party day regardless of the complaints. They don't change their schedules, they still will drink beer (a lot of people). If they move it to Saturday, it would cut into their audience.

There is a decent portion of people that don't care about football at all (a lot of people) that would spend their Super Bowl Saturday like any other Saturday. But on Sunday, it's special, and that group is tuned in because the options on Sunday don't even come close to matching the Super Bowl's magnitude.

I honestly don't think there would be a ratings difference at all.

Don't you think that there's a certain contingent of people only watching because that's what they know everybody does on that day? Because there's limited options of what to do that night?

Move it to Saturday, and then all of a sudden there's a lot more to do, and we see it from our own eyes of like, 'Well, even if it's a Saturday -- there's nothing bigger in magnitude that you wouldn't be able to do any other night than what the S.B. offers me on this night' but, most don't think like we do. They don't care enough.

West Coast NT'ers...do yall loathe the cross-coast trips that your teams make over the course of a season? For us on the East Coast, it can suck either not watching the WC games b/c they are too late, or slugging it through work then next day b/c you stayed up to watch the game. Having those 10-10:30pm starts mid-week REALLY suck.

How is it for you all when there is a 4:00-4:30pm start (or even 10am during football season)?

:smh:

For a Laker fan, it gets tough trying to stay up for games. More often then not, I'll just catch the beginning and/or end and skip the middle.

And personally, I liked the 10 AM kickoffs. 10 AM - about 8 PM on Sunday nights gave me enough time to watch Sunday night TV.

Mountain time has to be the best for game watching, central seems good too. East coast is the worst

So I was watching one of the Ken Burns baseball docs and also saw an old hockey picture where Mario was in the stands as a teen and noticed that all of the fans were dressed up. Suits on, hats for the gentlemen outside at the baseball games. When did the spectators go from business dress to casual? The 70s? I personally love everyone dressed up and it makes it feel important and big.

Brad Ausmus may not have had the biggest bat, gang, but he sure could frame a pitch.

Funny how the contract conversations back then were so similar to the things we are hearing today.

Not even sure if I ever saw this one but SportsCentury was such a good series.

As well as FOXsportd "Beyond the Glory."

Respect to the KG
