Police pulled a man over on Route 29 in Silver Spring last week because of a problem with his plates. This would not ordinarily make international news, but the car was a black Lamborghini, the license plate was the Batman symbol, and the driver was Batman, dressed head-to-toe in full superhero regalia.

HOLY MOVING VIOLATION!

It didn’t take long before images of the Dark Knight’s encounter with law enforcement began turning up in Facebook news feeds, on CNN and the London tabloids. The episode even made it into Jimmy Fallon’s monologue on NBC earlier this week.

Jokers emerged instantaneously too. “Let him do his job,

Very dope. Its the simple things in life that one truly treasures. Something so simple for him is such a treasure for all those families.

As soon as my dad got home he turned on the news to show me batman being pulled over

i was like what in the world are you talking about.

This is amazing. I'm going to do something like this. Except I'm going to dress up like the strangers villain ... so if you're in San Jose and you see some hipster on a red state bicycle... thats me.

Possibly the best execution of a black Lamborghini ever! Both as the Batmobile & for charitable purposes. He's probably the only guy besides Steve Jobs that could get away with not having a license plate.

I thought it was gonna be a repost of him getting pulled over, never read this article though.

This dude is THE man. Seriously. Not just donating extra money he has to charities and whatnot, but actually going the extra mile. Respect.

Real Life Superhero “Lamborghini Batman” Dies In Highway Crash

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a man known for visiting hospitalized children dressed as Batman died in a crash on a western Maryland highway after his Batmobile had engine trouble.

Police say 51-year-old Leonard Robinson of Owings Mills was checking the engine of his Batmobile while standing in the fast lane of eastbound I-70 Sunday night when the car was hit by a Toyota Camry.

The driver of the Camry wasn’t injured.

The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. near the unincorporated community of Big Pool.

Robinson was known for traveling in costume to hospitals in the Baltimore-Washington area and gained national attention in 2012 when dashcam video surfaced of police pulling him over while he was driving his Batmobile.

The Washington Post reported in 2012 that Robinson spent more than $25,000 of his own money on Batman-related items every year, including toys, t-shirts and books he gave away to kids.
