Whats a joke? Eli Manning has Two Super Bowl MVP's. Warner has One. We partially base these things off championships, correct?
Forget Kurt Warner, he should not be a first ballot HOF'er for making a statement like that. Was his career that much greater? No.

How old are you? Kurt is a great player and a great story. Kurt Warner played like a Brett Farve but instead of pics he fumbled. Is Farve a HOF to you?

No, he should not.

Never understood why he said that. Dug himself a hole.

and now i hate eli alot more
dude went  from bagging groceries to winning a Super Bowl, probably won't be 1st ballot but will be a HOFer

Probably is a first ballot hall of famer but dsnt deserve to be. Hes not in the conversation w current guys like rodgers brady and brees imo. His best years (saint louie) his teams were stacked e isaac bruce, tory holt and marshall faulk :

Theres a reason he eas in the arena league and bagging groceries

he wasnt consistently good.

Let us not forget all the years this dud
e was trash

I think hes in. He had a great story coming in and a pretty successful career, except in NY. He could have easily disappeared at the end of the Rams era so he recovered quite nicely.

How is this laughable?
He has 2 MVPs which is pretty much a guaranteed in for a QB and then the SB win. Its a done deal. Even without the second he should still go.

He only played a full season a few times. In 2005 he played 10 games and and threw 11 TDs and 9 INT
laugh.gif

2004: 10 games... 6 TD 4 INT

He only played 7 games in 2002, 2 games in 2003, and 6 games in 2006. TD/INT ratio has never been impressive as far as I can see.

He lucked out getting paired out with those guys in STL and then Fitz in AZ.

Let's not compare Kurt Warner to Tom Brady because it's just not relevant to the conversation at hand

Uhhh, there's obviously a debate here, but I don't think he's a first ballot hall of famer. As the years go on, and more and more great players from this era become eligible, and more greats from the late 90's early 00's become eligible, the field will get murkier...I'm not saying I don't think he'll get in cause he obviously had a great career, I'm just saying I'm not sure about him.We also have to take into account what he did in the playoffs....if I ran the hall, I don't think I'd let him in.

The guy went to three superbowls... And has the three greatest statistical performances in SB history. Yes, he's a hall of famer.

But we have to look at it realistically and realize he is a golden boy QB who was beyond nice to the media and he is going to get in hook line and sinker. And it will likely be first ballot to boot.

I've said this before but if you are a QB who gets voted into the HOF you get in first ballot almost every time, the voters do not mess around with that position.

QFT, Dude doesn't deserve a 1st ballot. Seems like some of you guys would put anyone in there.

Why is dude so hurt about what he said about eli..when he was asked the queston, eli wasn't a hofer...easy as that...

Warner is easilya hofer...went to 3 super bowls, took two diff squads to the bowl, and shined all three times.. I bet if he had jpp, tuck, dragan, etc making opposing qbs liVes Miserable his sb record would be better...

Stop letting yall personal hate nd biase deter ur judgment...all yall old enough to drink remember the tenn sb win...yall remember how flat out dominant warner was... lightning quick releasE nd still was accurate...

I can see the argument either way, when he was ON he was one of the best but he was so inconsistent

Sorry Ry, but I'm not buying your shtick with this one. There's a lot of naysayers in the media as well, that may not see him as first ballot. Aside from QB's getting the automatic first ballot inductions, I would challenge people to look at this more objectively and bring more to the table.

All I'm seeing is MVP's = this, or Super Bowls = that, shorter career means this, his stats in the short term proves this...

Kurt is one of the best to ever play. His accuracy and anticipatory throwing is rivaled by only a few. We're not talking about dump off's either. These throws were down the field (if you want to tie that into a useful stat then look no further than the fact he is the NFL's all-time leader in yards per pass attempt). He could read a defense better than anyone. And c'mon...his SB performances speak for themselves. His bad runs in the league was due to being injury prone and not because he was a bad Q. You can't fault him for getting his shot late. Greatness is greatness and he was that.

One more thing..Leave that AFL mess out. It's like saying Warren Moon shouldn't be in the HOF because he started in the CFL. Steve Young was overrated because he got his start in the USFL. Sorry, but that's silly. Opportunities aren't always gift wrapped to the future greats like it happened with Brady.
