OFFICIAL: Air Trainer 1 Mid Premium aka "Chlorophylls"... paging Wallyhop....

Whoops, you're right it was johngotty that got the black pair. Complaints about the toe box leather make me sad though, I wish they'd have nicer leather all around.

I want the black pair real bad but Idk how I feel about paying retail. Hopefully I can find them for less

They're not bad. Personally, I just don't like the shiny look of the leather. It reminds of the footwear high school basketball referees are required to wear here.

I bought them from CT prior to the US release so returning them isn't even worth the hassle.

Wow. I won't say much to this one..
I have maybe 5 cross trainers post 2006 by Nike. In an era that many are calling a resurrection of the cross training genre, I'm keeping my money in my pocket...
Going back to the 2008 chlorophyll release, I posted up comparisons, gave some insights, and was on my way... I can see why the training fanbase is dwindling in numbers here on NT... We have people like yourself who may be used to the other popular threads here at NT... The cross trainer way for years has been 100% open objectivity.... I hope it can stay that way

I've owned maybe 30 pairs of various Trainers since the early 2000's, please don't make assumptions that I "just got into them".

minus the shine on those black pair, that looks to me to be some "premium" leather. now that's what the clorphylls should be made out of. if you say they are "premium" then make em that way. IMO. don't false advertise.

The only thing assumed by me was that you were new to trainer threads/topics here at NT because of your lack of liking differing opinions.... Either new or you were used to other threads that take to a whole other approach.

I too have owned about what you have in trainers.. It's a lost genre IMHO. These latest limited lackluster material models do very little for me...

I just know when I see trainer threads, it's usually a breath of fresh air. Old heads come out of the wood work for what seems like a reunion of sorts.... The 2009 auburn sc highs got absolutely roasted here on NT.. Maybe more so than any other JB retro or Nike retro.. We nitpick. A lot of times, trainers are held to a higher standard. Whether that's a good thing or not, I don't know.

In other AT1 news, in the latest SC issue, there is a photo of the upcoming chlorophyll alongside another colorway. This one is an all navy upper with silver forefoot and swoosh, white midsole and laces, and a few maize accent pieces.. I personally find it hideous. My guess is that will release along side the total pillar michigans.. Just a FYI

Care to provide us with a scan of the pic?

I don't know if anyone has said it in here but deadstockshoes has the chlorophylls up for pre-order ($125). Still alot of sizes left.

The thirst looks to be there.. We're in a new LE era of hypedness.... Good luck fellas

:smh: $125 for something that retails for $110, which SHOULD retail for $90.. . Eccck.

I'd maybe continue tradition of buying, checking out quality first hand, and then tossing aside on the aftermarket. But for $125, there may be little room to even make money back

I remember when DSS was the place you'd hit to get your shoes for less than retail, because you know he's going to drag on getting them all shipped out. Not going to lie though if they'd have had my size I probably would pull the trigger just to avoid having last minute panic.

Just noticed deadstock is charging tax... have they always done this? I don't recall many, if any, resale sites charging tax AND shipping. Weak.

Do you live in CA? If so they're charging tax to comply with that new law where any store that does more than $10,000 in sales has to collect it.

Regulars/oldskoolers,

If we could, lets try and keep the early drops to "ourselves" and via PM as opposed to posting info in the thread. It would be helpful to those who want them ahead of time or without major hassle and have been waiting for years versus those who have popped in and out just looking for "is this limited, and how much are these going for on ebay" kinda riff-raff. Believe me, most of us know the difference. Just sayin. We went through the same hoops initially with trainer sc2 thread and it would be nice to get these taken care of without a ton of hassle. TIA

I think that Deadstock info was posted elsewhere before it got here. I'm subscribed to this thread and clicked thru to DDS as soon as the reply showed up. Even then, they only had up to size 10.5.

$15 extra to avoid the hassle? Yeah, I pretty much would've paid that

+1

Eh yo Gotty, how do those BB51's run btw? TTS?

I haven't touched them. I seriously do not like that shiny leather at all but it's a personal preference, not necc. a knock on the shoe. You can have them for a reduced rate for all I care . Shoot me a line via email (john.gotty at gmail)

I'm definitely trying to line up two pr of Chloro's though. Quality be damned.

My Safari run true to size, I was very impressed with the quality on them.

I would like 3 Chlorophyll's, but 2 will do.

I saw them up when they still had my 10.5, but I was being cheap and decided to pass. Now I'm regretting it because it's only $15 more, and there's free shipping. Taking into consideration the tax I would have paid for instore, it would have only been like $5.
