While I was at work (bored out of my mind), I was thinking of players that got to stay close to home. Just thinking about it, if I was a pro it'd be coolto play close to home. Can you name some players? No trivia, I'd just like to know some other names and where they attended...

(I'm sure there's a lot in baseball, but I'm not sharp when it comes to player history in that sport.)

First ones that came to mind:
Junior Seau
Fred Taylor

Recently:
Baron Davis
Jordan Farmar
Trevor Ariza
(Mark Prior)?

Keith Brooking was raised in the Atlanta area, played at Georgia Tech, and has spent 10 years with the Falcons. So he never really left the city...

Other guys I can think of...

Jessie Tuggle
Josh Smith
John Rocker

at the fact that Lebron hasnt been brought up by a non cavs fan. Dude has spent his whole life in that state, and will not leave the cavs IMO.

I love seeing home town players win the championship for the team they grew up cheering for. It is definately pretty sweet to see.

Jordan Farmar has not even had to leave the city of Los Angeles, let alone the State of California. He played high school ball at Taft High, in the Valley;he played college ball at UCLA, in West LA and now he is playing at Staples which is downtown.

That's a pretty sweet deal, living your whole life in Los Angeles, playing for the team you rooted for as kid, knowing that your team is on the rise andthat it may very well win a title in the coming years.

Udonis Haslem. Played ball for Miami High school, then played for the Gators (kinda far from Miami). Now plays for the Heat.

Juan Dixon?? back when he was with the wizards..
grew up in baltimore
went to maryland
then got drafted by the wizards.

Fred Jones got a quick stint with the Blazers last year.

and yes outacontrol, i agree with you. its comedy nobody mentioned it
