*UPDATE 6/27/15*.......Legend of Korra OFFICIAL THREAD..........MIGHT BE GETTING A NEW AIRBENDER SER

I'm too ADD to watch the original series over again.

I wonder if anyone on YouTube has a highlight mix of everyone 's best feats LOL

Kinda serious
Ive thought about re watching

But the feats of bending in terms of the level of animation is just too good now

I know ill be underwhelmed

Avatar the Last Airbender > Avatar the Legend of Korra

And that has absolutely nothing to do with animation or lack thereof.
In terms of plot and character development sure

but this series animation is better than lasts

So ...

Toph = best earth bender in the world

Zuko = best fire bender

Tenzin = best air bender

Who is the best water bender
Isn't Tenzin's daughter a better air bender at this point. I think in book 3 she was saying 'I know just as much as you dad, plus I have the better connection to the spirit world' etc

Isn't it obvious who the best water bender is
She ain't seeing Tenzin with the hands but she do got the spirit connection on lock.

The improvement in animation was inevitable, as that comes along with time. But for what AtLAB lacked in "animation", which I only parenthesize because I don't believe Aang's animation was lacking by much, it made up in character structure, plot, and overall story. Korra is just a wack avatar in my opinion, b. I can't get over that.

when is this season gonna be over so i can marathon it? i have no clue why i stopped keeping up with it

Wouldn't Zaheer be considered the best air bender?

Thought about it, until this:

Zaheer was getting the hands that entire fight, and the entire group had to gang up on Tenzin to take him down. And in terms of Jinorah, she has a unique ability with spirits, but beyond that I wouldn't say she's anywhere near her father. Same with Zaheer and his ability to fly. Unique skills, but I don't see them as throwing things in their favor when on the front of just plain Air Bending Tenzin's got the best skills.

I gotta watch the Zaheer and Tenzin fight again but from what I remember they were pretty even fighting each other one on one. They just ganged up on Tenzin in the end to be unfair, cuz, hey, they're bad guys, not necessarily cuz they needed to gang up on him to take him down lol

Zaheer was getting the hands, didnt even touch Tenzin once

I get what y'all are saying about Zaheer, but he did fight korra 1on1 while she was in Avatar state.

wasnt he on god level by that time though
Nah he could just fly
And he wasn't really giving her that work
U notice with korra she not as graceful as an avatar like aang was
She more of a bruiser if that makes sense
So she rather bum rush than evade then attack when it's crucial like aang
Which is why more times than not she seems to not have the upper hand
In the fight zaheer was like aang evading than striking
And korra since she not as graceful would get lit up

IMO it is hard to fight an extremely skilled air bender and look great because their defense and evasive skills are so impressive. If you look back at the original series you realize just how many fights Aang was losing that ultimately looked like draws because of his elusiveness.

Yes. For all intents and purposes Ozai was giving Aang the hands, but none of us ever remember it that way because of this example of ultimate badassery:

:smokin :nthat: :pimp:

Before that, Aang was actually on the run from Ozai for the most part, dodging and avoiding his attacks, and right before it happened he was hiding in a rock; though to be fair, he also could've given Ozai that work had he not punked out at the last minute when he was redirecting that lightning.

Excellent post. Ozai was exactly who I was thinking about when I made my post. Azula put in work on Aang as well.

And also to be fair aang was also passive
Yeah he could whoop ***
But a majority of the time he didn't seem like he really wanted to fight
Remember he kinda didn't even wanna fight ozai
Cause he knew he had to kill him
And that could affect his fighting ability
It always seems like he holds back u til there's no possible and he HAS to take someone out
I remember In The earlier seasons
Air bending is based more on evading and blocking attacks than attacking
