Could You Imagine If Lebron Actually Did Play In MJs Era Vol. Illegal Defense

Kinda a spin off on the illegal defense/mj era the easiest thread. I feel if Lebron could use his body more in defense he would benefit a lot. He is bigger than most of the guys and if he could actually use that as an advantage he would be unstoppable on the defensive end. Add the hand checking and plus his blocking he probably would have been a top defensive player of all time.

They still had 4th quarters in MJ's era, though. See how pointless that was? Just like this thread.

Because he's not a good defensive player now? When it's all said and done, he'll be one of the top defensive players of all-time.

Obviously you're right but that's why they changed the rules so much. To give everyone a seemingly fair chance to score. Real basketball fans are a minority. Most people don't want to see a defensive battle in any sport. They want to see fancy scoring plays.

Sidenote: No one from this generation could handle those 90's cats trash talk. GP & MJ wouldve made these young cats cry. (I think this has been said before.)

DoubleJs07:
When it's all said and done, he'll be one of the top Cav-turned-Heat defensive players of all-time.

The Bad Boys would have eaten him alive. True he is a physical specimen never seen before, but he's also a mental ******.

@ the 4th quarter joke to MJ gif combination.

I think Lebron would dominate. The Bad Boy Piston physical play is overrated. Their defenders fouled hard because they have poor lateral footwork and couldnt stay in front of fast guard like MJ . When MJ figured out how to expose Piston little guardsand go to the freethrow. They didn't stop MJ 6'6 240 lbs frame. A strong and huge guy like Lebron would give piston problems .

Piston use 6 foot Isaiah and 6'3 Dumar to check MJ in the perimeter. 6'8 Lebron would have punished Isaiah and Dumar

I've always said put prime Kobe, Lebron, prime Tmac, VC etc back in MJ era and it would be very interesting. The 80s, 90s defender were mediocre athletes and have poor footworks on defense. Smart, skilled and athletic perimeter players would have exposed the so call MJ era and go to the free throw even with handcheck

He couldn't give Shawn Marion buckets but would be able to give athletic prime Dennis Rodman work?

Sure

I can't stand how the kids on this board act like any basketball played before 2002 isn't up to par.
Like this dude just said LeBron would punish Joe Dumars.
ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Anyone with any respectable amount of basketball experience knows how much harder it is to go north-south with a shorter person hand-checking you. Lebron would have to post up, and we all see how well that's working.

I understand the cool thing to do is to rag on Bron but y'all take it to the extreme. Past ragging and coming up on idiocy.
