Wearing Old Jordans

Hi, I am not sure if this is the right forum. If not, move my thread please. I am about to buy a pair of 2001 Jordan 11 Lows, and I am wondering how wearable they are. I love 11s, but I'ma low top kinda guy. I like these better than the 2012 lows. I keep my shoes in great condition even the ones I wear, so I am curious as to how fragile they are. Since they are 10+ years old would they just break down? Thanks for any help.

they cant break down the most that could happen is sole separation which is an easy fix

Correct, also OG 10s are often still wearable as the midsoleUsually does not crumble.Just need to fix the sole separation issue. To OP: why not wait for the 2012 patent lows?

The ones releasing may 5th? I might just wait, but I like the red patent leather better. I'm still deciding though, and this information helps. I still am deciding. I don't know if I like the red sole either, but I appreciate the help!

And OG 13's those tend to show signs of separation from the sole after about 10 years

I've got 3 pairs, all holding up well with occasional wears

wore my 99 fire red 5's today still hold up fairly good. Just don't stomp and abuse take care of your jordans and they will take care of you.

Just went an wore my 2001 XI lows (carolina blue) and they had evidence of sole seperation on both shoes.
I hadn't worn them in 2 years and when I got home the soles came completely off both shoes with ease.

Its a shame, I did hoop in them back in the day and while not completely beat they had been well worn.
Not sure if i'll glue them back on or just throw them out.

Carbon is cracked in a few places but it looks pretty sweet with no sole!!!

Just thought i'd share.

Where did you keep them for the two years that you hadn't worn them? Just wondering if keeping them in certain places would stop the separation. I would glue them together and just ball in them til they break apart again.

It shouldnt cost you more than $30 per shoe to get them professionally reglued at a shoe repair place. Don't throw them away, you'll regret it.

I store all my shoes in my closet but not in boxes. They are on racks I made up.

Thanks for the heads up on having them reglued but not having worn them for 2+ years I'm not sure i'm that in to them
anymore but I will put them in a box and maybe reglue them sometime down the track

I also just checked my 1995 OG Breds and the soles came off just as easy.
I now have two pairs of XI's with no soles on them.
Nevermind!!
