The Official Slaughterhouse Thread Vol: Welcome to Our House in Stores NOW

this album is usually dumbed down music, they really ain't saying much besides from Goodbye, The Other Side, Rescue Me & Our Way. it's a good release but they need to drop songs like those i just mentioned more than the average mainstream stuff

Slaughterhouse is cool but man people are tired of the whole "group rap" thing their tryna pull off. Same ol, same ol from them. Good raps but I mean....they need to supply the fans with more

i bought off amazon. shady record promotion sucks man. if i were them i would have had eminem practically taped to their anus for the release. hell even put him on the album cover haha

People are tired of the whole group rap thing??? Who else is doing that besides them  ?

As far as the numbers go, I'd say the promotion is more disappointing than anything. I mean, has anybody heard any SH single being played as much as something like Beez in the Trap, No Lie, or My Last?

yea seriously and the commercial songs they do make cant be played on radio because of the cussing and explicit content

like the record label set them up to fail. you knew it was all bad when they released my life and didnt even release a radio friendly version of it. just edited out mother ******g in the chorus making it sound stupid

they should do a 20 song album, separated into 4 sections, 5 songs per member. Like, solo songs featuring the different members (not all at once) or even non members. Then one completely solo song per section.

Joey ft. Royce and _____

They can all make their type of song and get the people and production they want.

This 4 verse format isn't the swag.

This album is just terrible though. 4 verses or not. The song concepts are pretty poor. And I *really* like these guys. But, they're too happy. They're just too happy and excited to be on a major or to be getting more money...whatever. And good for them, i'm glad they're getting some success. But, the music isn't there. The chip that they has as solo artists is gone.

I've had an itunes giftcard lying around since Christmas. I was GONNA use it for this album, but I'm afraid to.

Really liked their first CD.

LOVED the Shady EP.

Nothing I've heard so far from this album has me hype though.

I think it all started when I finally saw them in concert a few months back and was HIGHLY disappointed. 45 minute set, played hammer dance TWICE, let Crooked freestyle for 5 minutes and NOTHING from the Shady EP. It was only 30 bucks to see them, but I was still very disappointed.

I'll eventually get it, and I WILL purchase it since I've been such a fan for so long, I just know I'm going to be disappointed though.

Shady just over produces EVERYTHING. The Yelawolf CD was a huge disappointment for me as well after listening to Trunk Muzik for years. It feels like Eminem is never satisfied with the track and has to rework it over and over.

Maybe I just got to realize that both artists' mixtapes will always be what I want, and their commercial stuff will never be what I want.

I understand why Shady didn't format the release like the EP, but I wish they did. I liked every track on the EP and by the sound of it I thought their major release would be epic.

I think eminem has them making music only he could get away with. I did enjoy both yelawolf and the slaughterhouse album, but they had songs that reaked of "eminem only"

What's the ep you guys are talking about?
This?

 When I first saw the video, I couldn't believe that was the way they edited. There was a time when you had a very explicit song, you would just make a different version and just change up the words, and blot out any excess stuff.

Yep. They released that last spring/summer when they first signed to Shady. Only I think 6 tracks but I liked EVERY one of them. Listened to that EP all last summer hyping Slaughter to everyone who would listen....

Cool thing was the jukebox at my bar got it the week it was released. I had everyone rocking 'Back on the Scene' and thought it was an EXCELLENT choice to re-introduce Slaughterhouse to the public.

I'll download the album tonight and comeback with a review. I'm no fanboy. I gave Yelawolf's cd a 2 out of 5 stars after about 10 listens. Hopefully Yelawolf's Psycho White cd with Travis Barker redeems him. I absolutely LOVE Travis on Hip Hop tracks.

Saigon probably said it best, there's no question that every member of Slaughterhouse can rap. They just can't make songs. Other examples include Canibus, Lloyd Banks, Every Battle Rapper Ever, Jae Millz, Shawnna, Pill, I mean you name em'.

What I'm saying is this: Slaughterhouse is an undeniable talent, but just like nobody want's to hear "DIE" ten times in a row, nobody want's to hear "Goodbye" ten times in a row. There's FIVE of them on this album, and it feels like a copout to me. I feel like they were looking for their own "Lighters" for this album. (A song that I think had no business on an album called Welcome to Hell by two dudes called Bad and Evil. It was a cheat that paid off and I think SH was convinced it could work for them too.)

Again, I liked it, between this and the mixatpe there was plenty of variety for me, but I was judging the album as a stand alone product.

Too much mouse, not enough 'House.

You should take Lloyd Banks off that list, cause he's made A LOT of very good songs, both past and present. Pill just sucks  If you looked up the words generic, subpar, and bland, you'd see a very boring picture of Pill.

I definitely agree with the bolded though. I haven't heard the entire album, but the cuts I did hear had way too much blatant pandering to the mainstream. "Lighters" stuck out like a sore thumb on that BME album, but lucked out as a hit just like you said. I'll just wait on the next Slaughterhouse mixtape and album, cause I know that 3rd album will be :pimp: :pimp:, whether they are still on Shady or not.

Im a huge Budden fan and bought 2 copies of the 1st Slaughterhouse album, No parts of me has even wanted to even stream this album. kind of sad....

i got to admit Welcome To Our House is not up to par with other hip hop albums, it seems like Eminem really tried to compromise their whole style and make them sound a little wacky. there are a good handful of tracks on here but you can tell Shady's influence is all over this album

Huge Budden fan. Literally purchased everything hes put on over the years.

I bought the first SH album ...  but I havent even listened to this new.

I'll buy it to support but I just dont care about the album, Im not even sure why.

Wow, even though i read a couple reviews and responses in here about this album, hearing the disappointment for myself is amazing :smh: I like Hammer Dance, Flip A Bird, Rescue Me, and Die, and even those aren't really really standout songs. The rest of the album is what a lot of people mentioned, full of post-Eminem Show wackiness and blatant commercial reaching.

Goodbye is a dope song though, they should of made more tracks like that instead of Shady influenced material
