Black guy hair cuts

Anyone ever wonder why se tend to stick to Caesars, low cuts, and fades? Seems like we're constricted to only a few hair styles. Anyone ever try something new like side swiping your hair? Maybe I'm rambling. Maybe I should've posted this in the thread about nothing. Oh well. Care to discuss?

I'm honestly a little bored with the same ol' same ol'. I just cut my semi hi-top fade because it was getting boring. 3 days later, I'm bored with my caesar.

What in the world is side swiping your hair?

I want dreads but I'm not willing to put in the time. There's also the whole work thing.

at first it should, but I think after a while your hair gets used to it, but it could be a difficult process and you might need some sort of pomade or hair holding cream to get that look right at first.

it might be super difficult if you have tight curls though, g'luck if you're trying to do this if thats the case.

saw a black dude the other day who looked like he was going for the mullet look. smiley: laugh weirdest cut ever, he had it kind of slicked up on the top and straightened the back and it was past his shoulders.

I'm cool with a wavy cease or a curly fro for the rest of my life.

You mean like perming your hair like Sammy Davis or Malcom Little? Or even a Jheri curl?
1) black men look horrible with toupees, 2) most of us actually look nice with bald heads so I think subconsciously we just keep it short and simple now. It's a nice transition. I used to have hi tops, curls all of that when I was younger now I just keep it low with a taper.
Although if I could I would grow my hair out like Snoop. %^^$ is luxurious.

Nah, not like relaxing your hair. I don't want to look like MJ or the Temptations. Just trying to think of why different cuts would be compatible with black guy hair. I'm not an expert on hair and I don't know the difference of textures and how that relates to hair cuts and what not. Just essentially trying to see if there are any looks besides dark Caesars, low cuts, dreads, etc. And by the side swipe, I meant something like this. Just got. My hair cut and decide to brush side ways as opposed to straight down. Then brushed in the opposite direction where te part is created. Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos Just wondering if any of you all have successfully added different styles into your look.

Faux hawk with the waves faded on the side..

I was rocking a part with the waves last summer...that's as much "change" I do these days

Always wanted some twistys though, DL Hughley style but I'm too impatient
