Black guy hair cuts

Alright so I am trying to maintain this curly hair I have but it is not really working out for me. I tried wearing a Tsurag and a Durag but my hair would look like complete ....

And when I don't sleep with either of the durags or tsurags on...

And when I wash my hair with this I rub it in a circular motion with my hands, my arms get tired from rubbing it in circular motion but I power through...

It turns out like this... (Results may vary depending on how well I rub my hands in circular motion..)

I let my hair air dry because when I dry it with a towel it ends up looking nasty so when it dries throughout the day it looks like this...

This one time when I took a shower i tried washing it by putting the shampoo and conditioner on the rag and rub it in circular motion to see if that would work out and it turns out it didn't...

And if you are wondering how long my hair is I picked it out into a Afro and it is this long...

\

I stopped using this curl styling milk and gel, but when I first started to actually try to get curls I would buy these...

and do the same circular motion method with my hands the only problem was that was when my hair gets dry it would look nappy and nasty...

Now with the Gel and Curling style milk, when the Suave products weren't making the cut for me I started to buy Gel but I stopped using it because I did not like how my hair would get very hard and have this nasty stuff or feel nasty in it when you rub through it, so I bought the Curling style milk but it was only worse. When I get out of the shower I would rub my hair in a circular motion with the styling milk (same process I did with the gel) but the only thing is that the stuff wouldn't rub in my hair so there would be this white stuff in my hair until it dries out which takes a long time... and it had the same effect of the gel my hair would get hard and have this nasty stuff or feel nasty when you rub through it. And I don't even put that much milk in my hair either so I stopped buying that too. I was losing hope, I didn't know what to do anymore to achieve this curly hair and maintain it, I don't even want to use a S Curl texturizer but I still bought one. I been growing my hair since towards the ending of last summer. I did some hard research that didn't help me, well... it did a little bit I found this product....

This product right here agreed with my rubbing my hair with my hands in circular motions method until my hands get tired or my hair feels curly. But there is still one problem left that is annoying problem I need to solve and that is maintaining my hair over night. A durag or Tsurag dont work for jack .... my hair looks like total .... when I get up out of my bed until I hop in the shower and do what I do. I just wanna know what to do to wake up without my hair looking like total complete ....

I WOULD like my hair to look like these two pictures below me.. Something I would like to rock and want to maintain without getting up out of my bed with my hair looking like ....

I remember when I went to the store I spent over $100 for these products but didn't know how to use them so I was like .... it.

If anyone know any type of suggestions of what I should do with my hair and how I can wake up without it looking like .... I would appreciate it. ALSO anyone know how to solve that problem when you wear over head headphones like beats and your hair has a indent in it of where the headphones have been. I know people who have Afro just pick it out with a pick but what would people with curly hair do?

i dont think his hair texture can pull off either of those examples he posted
That's cool, but any suggestions on how I can maintain my hair over night and a hairstyle I should rock?
when i had my curly bush, i couldn't avoid bead head, but i would just comb (backwards/ against the grain) it out DRY in the morning then wash it with conditioner,

apply whatever moisturizer(shea stuff) generously, and let the curls form naturally, none of that circular motion/sponge, your hair isn't coarse so that isn't necessary.

report back with results, i have a pretty good idea of what you should have

the trick is not to separate the natural curl your hair takes once its wet/moisturized and just let your genetics do their thing

Dont wear a durag. That is not neccessary. IF you want you can get satin pillowcases. You cant avoid bed head.

What I do is just rub water on it in the morn to wake it up.

I dont see anything wrong with your curls in some pics. Embrace it. Looks good to me

You cant have a drake curl because that simply is not your natural texture.

Every curl pattern is different

You need a shape up

Bed hair is unavoidable. Get a similar haircut as dude you posted (not Drake), that way you'll only have curls on top and won't be flattening them out when you sleep. When you wake up dampen your hair and apply moisturizer // leave in conditioner.

Maintaining curls is not difficult, you're just trying to pull off a look that your hair isn't built for.

Il try this in the morning. Basically just comb it against the grain of my dry bed head hair and then do what I do to wash my hair like rubbing the shea moisture shampoo and conditioner in circular motion right?

yea comb it backwards, or if you have a pick use that

& nah kill that circular thing man, just finger the moisturizer through regularly and let the curls form by themselves.

Wash my hair with the Shea moisture shampoo and conditioner then put leave in conditioner is that a good method?

Alright I always thought it better helped form the curls.

You wont ge able to maintain the look you want overnight. You're gonna have to moisturize and hit it with the currl brush to start the day every day.

Don't wear a durag or anything like that. That's literally matting down your hair, laying your hair down on top of itself, basically what you'd want to do if you wanted the opposite of curls.

It may sound counter intuitive but moisturize and pick your hair out and then use nudred/curl brush. When I was rocking curls last summer I would pick my hair out completely every day or two and got the best results.

All that will help you towards the look you want but you're texture isn't gonna have you looking exactly like the pics you posted bro it is what it is.

When I had the curls a couple months ago I moisturized my hair first, and then picked it our before hitting it with the brush like Ice City said. Worked like a charm unless my hair got really long

Im in the mist of growing the notty low fade but im tempted to go back the notty taper.

@TheBro  updates on your cranium fam
Im thinking of going to the barber since I need a hairline.. Idk should I get a curly flatop like the pic I posted or just shave it down..? or just line it up. And to tbh il try all your suggestions over the weekend since I don't want to look like a di..head  if one of your guys methods don't work out for me.
