Black guy hair cuts

I was wondering, how would I go about getting these kind of curls minus the hair dye?

Been growing out my hair for months now but I've been trying to get off the nappy curl fade look.
Use the gel casting method:

Get water and coconut or olive oil mix in a spray bottle

Grab small sections spray until hair is soaked and curls clump just like that (or desired texture/look)

Cover section in a leave in conditioner

Coat entire section with WATER based gel

Let air dry don't worry about white beads the gel does that and it will dry clear

It last about 7 days.

Are you serious?

the "gel casting method" outlined above sounds so intense...

i would feel like a fool going through all those steps. I can see my wife just knocking everything off the bathroom counter into the trash lol

Lol its the best way to manipulate hair texture without damaging chemicals.

Nah she's not but I actually did go to my dermatologist and he reiterated some of the same sentiments, and I also personally seen the difference since I stopped picking my hair every day, it looks fuller and not nearly as much breakage when I get it cut or wash my hair. But you cook how you want, but seeing as all our hair is different texture wise, not factoring in the genetic components giving advice that's wrong to people looking to maintain certain styles is a bit irresponsible. Over brushing, combing, picking etc. can all have negative effects on hair growth and maintenance. There's tons of evidence to support this.

So how often do you pick out your hair nowadays and what methods do you use to maintain your hair on the days that you don't

Bruh if you wanna grow some Elfrid Payton type dreads then grow 'em. Its your head do what you want.

And you should always moisturize your hair before using the sponge but different hair textures does yield different types of curls. Plus some people are using different types of hair products also.

When it's not styled, in a twist out or curls I pick it out maybe twice a week but most of the time it is styled some way so I don't have that issue. If I'm not going anywhere for the day just let it be. Also been using some of the castor oil to help with the places that are damaged.

I never found an easier way except Paul Mitchell Curls Twirl curl activating mousse but $25 a bottle is too much.

Think im bout to chop my hair off and get baxk on the waves + taper. Been growin since july but im tired of it now
*** backwards IMO.

Just got my last cut for a while bout to grow it out for the winter.

Copped a variant newdred sponge called Dream twist, will put it to work in a month or two when my hair grows out.

I need to move to a city where there are more barbers. My primary barber decided he didn't feel like coming in and my secondary barber shop closed early today .

My job dictates randomness though.

Had to cut off the best barber in my city because I had to schedule cuts days in advance :smh:

My cuts are still nice but he doesn't use the blade for the line up so I have to get a line in between cuts.
