Why do barbers always push **** back to get it sharp, thinking that it looks good? What's so hard about following the natural line? They should be teaching dudes this in barber school.

well, you have to push the line back very slightly to get it crisp. I guess the novice/sloppy barbers push it back a little more than necessary?

then again the barber college explanation sounds accurate too...

Bruh, it was hard telling my barber to fade me up

All that progress on my sides and back... faded :x

Can't stop getting the fade now tho. Should have taken the pic from a better angle for the full effect

I have problems with my left side waving up right so fades a must for me lol.

They actually teach that? Scumbags

Yep. They're not supposed to jack your hairline up. Clearly there's some barbers that just don't know what they're doing, so I'm excluding the ones that just have you looking ridiculous. They're just supposed to push it up just enough to where it's noticeable on you, some barbers go overboard. Most dudes just walking around don't keep clippers to edge themselves up like most dudes in here. Guys come back every week for that fresh line and barbershop talk. You gotta tell your barber to not push your line up to get them to stop. I'm talking full eye contact and let him know your serious. If you don't, they'll get you every time.

My new barber doesn't do any of that trickery with my line. It won't ever be as crisp as can be, but that's never been a big concern of mine anyway. Just need be clean & presentable.

Some of these barbers push back to compensate for an already cooked line. You can't come in that joint looking like flo rida before he came home expecting to get the Nas treatment. But I do agree a lot do push back unnecessarily.

Most barbers in the DC area are turrible. It's so bad when I finally found a good barber I was shocked my line up was crisp and not pushed back at the same time.

I think it's more of the gel or product he use in his hair.
Yo...we gotta collectively as a thread find the best gel/sponge combo.

I rocked with La Bella gel, but sometimes it got crusty or had me looking like I was rocking a wet jheri curl, I had to fall back.
