Does anybody call the Trend of Cats in the 80's with Jherri Curls or Hi-Top Fades, an EPIDEMIC??? Did anybody call the Short Bald Fade in the 90's an Epidemic?
The only true Epidemic there was, was from 1968-1979... the AFRO was a TRUE Epidemic bc it meant the GREAT DEPRESSION for Barbers All-Over the Country. Barbershops in the 1970's were Ghost Towns, from the stories I've heard.
But I digress.
ALL I'm Saying is: Why does Any Hair Trend besides the "Low Cut w/ Waves" have to be BAD?

Where did I say he owned it? Some of y'all acting like these trends don't happen where a majority of cats get their hair cut a certain way following the trend. I'm just predicting the next "trend". It was braids then dreads now nappy fro. I'm guessing fades are next. And who said they want all other men to rock fades, my g?

I guess everywhere I've been (Midwest & East Coast) a Short Fade has always been the DEFAULT Cut anyway, regardless of the Year, Era or Latest Trend... so I can't call that a Trend when over 40% of Cats walking around stay with one religiously, year-end and year-out.
I mean, I get what you're saying though, maybe we're just from different places.
And that Question was for all the Other Cats in here who stay chastizing other dudes in here for wearing their Hair the way they want them to, and not having a Low Cut Fade like them. That's why the question & 2nd half of the post was addressed to the Group... Not YOU. You really didn't say too much at all in a negative sense.

I'm at the shop now and second guessing getting the Denzel fade. First time going to this barber.

Not in DC they weren't.
Unless you moved here to go to Howard or your parents raised you to wear them, no one considered getting locks until mid 2000s. You can attribute that to Wayne or whatever southern rapper was hot at the time (Knuck if you Buck is the first time I even remember anyone "shaking their dreads"). People were still getting Iverson designs and Plats with shells the year before.
