Anyone in their right mind looking to make a profit off of 2004s would off their pairs before these drop.

If I recall correctly, this shoe is your grail, there are a few silly people out there who will sell their 04's after these drop.  That will be the time to pounce.  Removing 3M from this shoe is pretty much the equivalent of V's without the reflective tongue.  JB knows they can pump these out however they want though because they'll sell out regardless.

Are the 2013 Fire Red's going to have the 3m tongue? I never liked the look of the 3m in the 13's so it doesn't bother me at all.

I believe so, but that release is completely off my radar.

Yeah people used to have big time battles over 3M/no 3M.  I personally feel that it's what makes this shoe.  The mesh without it just looks weird to me.  When I want something more subtle I throw on my Playoffs.
 
I'll do what I did when the Flints released...buy 05s or OGs...no 3M is always a deal breaker for me. MJ wore these on court and when that 3M shined as a kid i was like 'Wow, Mom i want those!!!" Went to 6 stores and didnt find them. I cried so many tears :smh: :smh:
 
Exactly.  That's one of the big reasons why I had to seek out 04 Black/Reds.  Luckily my funds were on point when I pounced and I don't regret the premium I paid.

I did the same exact thing with the Flints.  That's why I keep saying bring on the re-releases.  I'm already seeing Grape V's drop a bit in price.  I'm going in for the kill on a 06 pair once they're at a reasonable level.  Then my short list can become even shorter.  In some cases I just have to settle for the current Retro due to actually wanting to wear the shoes (Black Cement IVs being a prime example).  Take the good with the bad.
 
Sneakerfan1, these are definitely one of my grails, therefore, I'm still hoping that it's dejavu all over again like when the Flint 13's dropped a couple years ago.

Still kicking myself to this day for selling my '04's thinking it would be an easy cop later down the line. :smh:

I have a feeling this release will do wonders for the market value of 04's.  The Space Jams seem to be an exception though as I can't find that particular pair for anything reasonable, but I guess that's just XI's in general.  Sometimes it's all about luck.
 
I used to say the same exact thing lol.  Multiple breaks.  Playoff XIII's and Bordeaux VII's brought me back.  IVs kept me around.  Unfortunately NSW (retro in particular) is making it difficult for me to ever completely call it quits.  Got me by the cojones.

^^ smh passed up a pair of those samples on ebay about 3 years ago at $100 bucks :smh: :smh: :smh:
 
On the flints they finally fixed the ugly creasing toe box & removed the 3m,smdh,solved 1 problem & created a new one,& looks the same for these
