Well, since my inquiries on which stores had RSVP and whether EB had a restock fell upon deaf ears, I'd like to comment on the Niketown closings. Living in Miami where ours just closed, my belief is that it wasn't feasible to keep that location open because the traffic is almost nil on days not associated with a special release. That coupled with the fact that the sneaker game is dominated by folks searching solely for special drops, the cost of leasing a space and paying an entire staff to basically babysit a store until the next major drop is futile.
I've always thought a better business model would have been to have constant restocks of the special releases (in small amounts, of course) while integrating a NikeID studio in every location to satisfy that niche market. The restocks would keep heads constantly coming through to check for what's gotten replenished this week and the NikeID would definitely be a boon. Then, just round out the locations with services geared towards runners, which I'm sure is the next tier of their customerbase. Treadmills for testing shoes, devices for determining the best shoe for each customer, etc...
I know some of us would frown on the constant restock model I mentioned, but, honestly, I think that Nike's own forced exclusivity and shortened supply is hurting the company and the buyer. When you know you have to compete with cats who are trying to get 5-10 pairs of a shoe to resell and you can't even get one, either you're going to work harder, pay outrageous reseller prices or quit. I'm sure most folks just quit, as I have at times in the past. With this model, even if you go into NT and don't find the particular sneaker you're dying to have, you might luck up on something else that you may have missed or could use another pair of, thus reinforcing brand allegiance and customer confidence.
With those changes, they'd start having the kind of traffic that you want and then the only other thing would be to train staff so that customers feel welcome and not like the staff is doing them a favor by helping them (which I'm sure we've all experienced) and getting the aforementioned traffic to buy something. Akin to a car salesman asking what it would take for him to get you into a car today.

no I didnt tape it off. because the whole shoe overall was glossy, I sprayed the midsole and then the leather to dull out some of the shine. the result left them looking very much like the 2008 CDPs but with better durability.Originally Posted by Sneakerfan1

yeah the matte finish on the midsoles really makes a difference. but they did the same thing with the white cement 4s and TB IIIs. that matte finish really prevents paint cracking. Glad that you got them.
I may sit on my pair and cop some orange laces to toss in them down the road. I don't "love" this colorway, but these definitely look a lot better in person than I expected them to. Everyone I've shown them to (people who aren't into sneakers) told me to keep them. Why JB can't use a matte finish like this on all of their III's and IVs is beyond me.
So far I've only broken out my BC III's once.
Wish I could've done this to my Fire Red III's. Eventually I'll probably have those repainted.

cant stand reading posts about ppl coppin for retail. Im happy for yall but makes me more mad I cant find someone to help me out with my size. Im a huge Knicks fan and been eyeing this release since the WC 4s. once again.. I need a MIRACLE.

i mentioned earlier how i doubled up on playoffs and ended up helping someone out for 190 shipped cause i felt bad and cause i was hoping id get a favor returned my way. hasnt been the case so far and i didnt even wanna part with that second pair. Ive been salty since saturday and the feeling will continue until i get my pair haha

How come you didn't plan accordingly? you knew about this release since the WC 4s. Its almost like booking a plane ticket months in advance, packing you're bags to arrive at the airport just to know you miss you're flight. Im not gonna lie, i was able to add a popular size in my kart from finish line. but when they sent me a pair of defective aj 11 lows. i said no way Jose.

planning ahead to me means getting every website up on a bunch of browsers and saying an our father at 7:59 am. Mall stores in my area all have corrupt employees that take 2/3 of the stock leaving like 8 pairs for the ppl lining up all night. not worth it to me

In my area most all the managers in my are are size 13. They straight up told me to not even bother to come or camp because the shoes are all ready reserved. Only two stores now that do things legit ( no reserves to employees or anyone) its first come first serve.

Definitely Krylon. Not only has it worked well on Jordans, it also worked well on my South Beach Lebron 8s. it really protected the Teal color from rubbing off.

Im still looking for you homie. Sorry my fam sold both of his size 9.5s before I could get in contact with him. I looked on ebay and don't believe the people on here, pairs are selling for $250-$300. The cheapest ive seen on FB was $250 shipped.
I checked on Twitter and price jumped drastically. Dudes were selling for as low as $200 but now clowns are trying to push them for between $250-$600. best advice I can give at this point is to wait a few weeks and try to track down a pair. With South Beach Elites and Yeezy 2s on the horizon, these corny kids who think they are big time resellers will push these off for $230 or so to get money for those releases.
