In a small way shoes are investments. Not one you can see a high return on if worn. But you still invest time,effort and money into them. And some shoes even after being worn still bring some good money on ebay.

What,only money,stocks,bonds,etc can be considered an "investment"?
Anything,and everything can be an investment.....an investment is taking something,an object, paying one price,and believe that you will make a profit off it,whether its a short or long term.
If I buy a pair of shoes say in 2012 for $150 and believe I can make a profit,isn't that an investment?
If you make profit off of anything,that thing is considered an investment, esp. Siunce you invested money (and time) into it.
I.e These 4s cost $160....some people are makinga $160 "investment" and turning it into 200,250,300,or w.e price their selling for,so yes,shoes can be an investment,imo

Lol the things we do for this hobby.
Those dropped when I was trying to take a break from shoes. I may have to double up on the IX's and see if someone will trade me a pair of 8's. I need to get a pair down the line hype aside. Such a beautiful shoe.
I've had very minimal cracking issues with my VIII's and I've worn them quite a bit. Repainting those once they finally do show signs of giving way is going to be a headache. Definitely would be nice to turn the Black Cements into an everyday type shoe without fear of cracking. You'd think we wouldn't have to jump through so many hoops spending $160+ on a pair of sneakers.

If you're talking to me, I like the shoe and I bought quite a few pairs. Homeboy said that that NT calls a shoe fake when it isn't authorized by JB. Well, that's exactly what a fake shoe is! If it isn't an official colorway released by JB, then it's fake.

Dude, pretty much EVERY sneaker is being sold above retail MINUTES after release, nevermind years after. How is that a false prophecy?? Can't you sell almost EVERY OG Jordan for above retail right now, especially if DS?

I don't get that logic either...anytime you put money into something to potentially make money, that to me is an investment. Even if you lose money, you lose on that investment, but it still an investment because the purpose initially was to make a profit.Originally Posted by apthekid

Diggin' these quite a bit. I have to say I think from a quality standpoint they are superior to the WC4s. My pair is flawless for the most part and doesn't feel near as "cheap" as the WC4s. Just my .02.

when i say investment, i mean it in the way of making sure the shoes last as long as possible.......i like my kicks, i wear them, i clean them so they can look fresh for as long as possible....it ceases to amaze me the amount of hate on this board.......shoes arent an investment, ur stupid whoever says that......if you can buy something and re sell it for more, regardless of what it is, car or shoes etc....., its an investment.........plain an simple.....its getting bad on here tho, i been cruising this board for 10plus yrs, and man the amount of sideline haters is outta control......go workout or something to get that negative energy out.....

I agree with you on Quality, my pair feels way more comfy out of the box than the White Cements. The White Cements took a few wears to break in.

Sneakers have become an investment, but for me it's a hobby. I buy kicks to wear and because I like them. I don't worry about how much they're going to be worth or even if someone else likes them. It only matters what they're worth to me.
The investment part just matters when I people try to bring up how many sneakers I have and how much I've spent...then they feel dumb when I tell them I can even sell used sneakers for more than I paid.
