It happens. Trailers, production stills, behind the scenes footage, etc... can be deceiving. They can make a good movie look bad and bad movie look good. Based on what we've seen from the previous movies and all the other stuff, we thought it would be bad. It proved us wrong. It happens.

Even though DoFP won me over, it still doesn't take away from how spectacular this film was. I thought the general consensus would have loved this film like how I did but you can't please everyone. The sequels have HUGE HUGE upsides though and it's not long before everyone's on board whether it be through Sin 6, the Venom film, or ASM3

To be honest all they have to do for me is tighten up the story. Action was on point and so was the visuals. It just felt like this was a draft. Still a good movie tho

watching the first half of the movie was like watching the first movie ... the dont really that **** about peter's father

I can at least applaud SONY for trying to be pioneers from that angle. Nobody has attempted a super villain movie like that let alone a group of them.

If it succeeds it opens the door big time. As mentioned they just have to tighten **** up and above all stay away from he cliche, cuz it's one of the reasons there aren't a whole lot of super villain comics since you'd have to show the bad guy winning and that'd be a bad message in the most basic reasoning. So they got a chance to change that a bit.

Who would the sinister six be in conflict with? A bigger villain? Each other down?

Exactly. Who are they going to pit the Sinister Six against that it makes us root for them?
Like I said this is potential. They can have the dynamic where you're watching not necessarily rooting for them but possibly against them.

Like everybody that wants to see Heisenberg lose or Hannibal get caught and so on.

I've never seen an episode of Breaking Bad but from what I understand about it is that it's a tragic tale and that the protagonist ends up alone?

I haven't seen every Hannibal movie but at least in the Hannibal movies I've seen there's a protagonist in there that we root for that he plays off of.

You can't go the tragic tale route in a comic book movie and - at least from the Hannibal movies I've seen - Hannibal had the benefit of someone else being the protagonist that we can root for. For the Sinister Six, that's Spiderman but I'm assuming we're removing him from the equation because then it'll just be a Spiderman movie and not a Sinister Six movie.

I can kinda vibe with you about 'potential' if there was a villain in the ASM2 like Loki in the Avengers. Someone with charisma - that fans love even though he's a villain -

But through 2 movies we don't really have a Spidey villain that fans love.

The Lizard wasn't really that memorable.

I actually liked Electro but everyone hated him

The Green Goblin was great for the most of the ASM2 movie. But once he turned full heel, I didn't find him to be likable.

The Rhino- really?

Toomes - can't say - he's pretty much a mystery.

Sooner or later there has to be a villain that shows up in the Spidey movie verse that can anchor the Sinister Six team akin to how Iron Man anchored the AVengers.

So hold up if lamekilla feels DoFP is better than ASM2 and he said ASM2 was a masterpiece does that make DoFP the greatest cinematic work in western civilization? :nerd:

Nah, when you watch BB you'll know where you fall. It starts that way but midway through the protagonist becomes a different beast altogether and depending on who becomes your fav you'll understand how some ppl can be rooting for the bad guy no matter what and just kind of minimize his evil deeds.

I meant Hannibal the tv show, which it's S2 just ended last night. That too has a good guy protagonist you can side with but it's hard not to be drawn in by Hannibal's whole style.

It's really just how you look at things like Barney Stinson feeling Zabka was the Karate Kid

You can definitely go tragic tale route with Spidey villains. A lot of them mirror him by being rock bottom at some point they make that heel turn like Doc Ock and obviously the Lizard. Not all of them but a few can drive a story that way.

I agree completely here. They gotta step there game up. To me they dropped the ball on the chance of having Norman Osborn be that guy. There's still the hope for a better Venom this time round.

From the comics the top guys who can be that are Kingpin, Norman, Doc Ock if you do it right, Venom, Hobgoblin, and Kraven. Maybe one or two others if you get the right actor.

There have been numerous Sinister Six arcs, I remember reading one of them but do not recall what it was really about. I am sure they will pull some inspiration in one of those books, tho those who are aware of those arcs, which do you guys think will work best for the film that fits in with the ASM franchise so far?
