One version is overwhelmingly showed more than another, especially in i regards to lead actors/actresses. There's a difference supporting characters and your main characters portraying something.
No one gives a **** that war machine and falcon are black, we give a **** that BP is being made.

Maybe this is the cynic in me, but I think Marvel wants to be seen as "progressive" in making BP and breaking that "barrier," but they secretly harbor resentment to the overt "blackness" of BP and how box office #s may not be up to par.
Let's be real: BP is gonna make some white folks very uncomfortable.

No, I agree with you, but you can't deny it's very subtly insulting what Hollywood does. I'm sure I'm not the only one who notices fhis low-key BS when I watch modern day films/shows. For how liberal Hollywood touts itself to be, they sure love to downplay minorities so they don't shine too much.

Ehh idk b. I don't think a studio would push a movie that they don't think would make them money, just cuz they want to seem progressive.

I think Hollywood is making a shift to more diverse casting, it's just very slow. Progress is hard. Lots of people are stuck in their ways.
Look at how fans respond when they race bended all those roles for Spidey lol, and how fans have reacted when marvel comics created new ethnic characters to represent established superheroes.

^ Major studios all want to make $, especially in the case of Disney being a public company and answering to shareholders.
I'm just saying they've already priced in a conservative estimate on how much BP will make (like every cautious studio should do for every film they put out) and have added an asterisk* next to it. I want BP to succeed as much as the next NT guy, but Hollywood knows deep down white folks will not turn out in droves to see a "too black" film.
Bet that they'll include Steve or BW in the BP film.

They would be right to estimate BP's box office in the lower conservative range, but that's just being realistic, I doubt there's any resentment. It's not like marvel is being forced to make BP. If they don't want to make it that much, I think they wouldn't.

But I will say on the off chance the movie doesn't do good #s the racists and ignorant of Hollywood will come out to say oh look a movie with a black lead or black cast won't make money. Same when Captain Marvel comes out.

He's a new superhero. And not sure if white america will come out for a movie where they're not well represented. Minorities in America have been conditioned to watch movies where they are not well represented all the time. White Americans, not so much. Not sure if they can completely embrace an all black superhero movie, but hopefully I'm wrong. I'll happily eat crow if it does numbers.
I'm sorry, I'm just pessimistic these days when things like race bending characters in Spidey has met some resistance and we just voted in a president that has sprouted xenophobic and racist rhetoric. Lol

I'll say this with as much blackness that's in bp as reported as long as it's not like a just freed slaves movie I'll be going to see it at least 3 times only way for things to change is for them to see big money come from it

Train scene from Spider-Man 2 is wild corny after Doctor Octopus gets off. It was definitely a visual homage to it though especially since that's considered the best Spider-Man film
