idk why they dont ever put kingpin in the spider man movies,im not heavy into the comics but from what i remember as a kid he was like the main spidey villain and would hire all the other villians to get spidey, felt like they should of introduced him in the movie especially the second one,i could be wrong but thats what i remember
I don't think sony has the rights but kingpins was spiderman/daredevil/punishers
Nemesis And they own him now that they have daredevil again

Sony should be able to use Kingpin and share him with Marvel/Disney just like Quicksilver and SW.

I just don't think he is their number one choice since all Spidey movies has kind of focused on Norman Osborne and Harry is pretty much going to be playing the same role as Kingpin in collecting the villains to beat on Spidey so there really isn't any room for him right now. Norman/Harry is a bit more interesting than Kingpin just off of the Green Goblin alone not to mention Peter relationship with Harry.

Maybe the Kingpin can enter the series and force Harry and Peter to join forces as they eventually do in the comic

It might be a while and it could work but it'll also have to have a bigger threat than just Kingpin himself, just seems like everything is in Oscrop right now including Smythe and the Venom symbiote. I guess those could easily swing to Kingpins side but I really do not see it happening anytime soon.

Plus they are trying to separate this one from the first trilogy so I am not even sure if they'd team them up again in this one, really wouldn't be surprised if they just kill him off instead and then bring up Kingpin.

true, but how many parts of this spidey series will they have? they would need at least 5 parts and idk if any movie series can be good through 5 parts

Well they have 3-4 film planned plus the Sinister 6 and Venom solo films.

And Garfield was supposedly offered to be Spidey til 2020 so it looks like Sony has all the time in the world to make it work.

My friend just brought up something that really bugged me from the movie - why where they eating dim sum at night though? :frown:

yes but what im saying is,i dont know any series of movies that didnt get stale after like the first 3,cant be out here looking like the first superman series

Not many franchises get to 3+ movies but Harry Potter, LotR/Hobbit, Hunger Games (I know theres been 2 so far but it has gotten better and there are going to be 2 more which can only get even better), Spiderman (which didn't really go stale, SM3 just sucked and you can say ASM is part of that franchise and it is still making loads of money), Batman (same as SM, Schumacher films just sucked not because it was stale), F&F, etc... People still clamoring for those films.

As a matter of fact, Superman film back then didn't really become stale, it just got incrementally bad, 3rd and fourth film were just not that good.

Though people comicbook film fatigue is there, it still isn't present based on the box office breaking performances these films are doing. Domestic numbers are becoming weaker but international numbers are just growing and growing.

i doubt marvel will license out kingpin especially with them releasing daredevil this year the scarlett witch quicksilver thing was a special deal with marvel and fox kevin feige said they're the only characters that it applies to

characters marvel cant use for movies

X-men  :Fox

Fantastic Four :Fox

Spider-man :Sony

Namor-Universal

everything outside of these Chararcters/stories is fair game

It's not about licensing them now, it's part of the universe Marvel they sold back then. Kingpin, technically, is a huge part of Spidermans universe too so he is likely already part of that licensing that Sony bought. It'll have to say "excluding Kingpin" in the contract because he is part of that universe. I mean Kingpin was Spidermans main villain in the cartoon, which is probably the most popular form of media for Spiderman ever so it'll be crazy for Sony not to include him in that deal.

I don't remember Feige saying QS and SW are special "deal", I doubt they went to FOx and said, "hey, we are going to use these two", they probably just decided to use them. And I do not remember Feige saying it only applies to those two, if anything it just further clouds and places some grey area in the map of which character can be used where. Feige actually said it also applies to Skrulls so it isn't exclusive to those two.

"It's a little complicated," says Kevin Feige when asked about Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in the above video interview with Hey U Guys at the European premiere of Avengers Assemble earlier today. "If they want to use them in an X-Men movie they could, if we want to use them in an Avengers movie we could." He also reveals that the same applies for the Skrulls (more than likely due to their connection to the Fantastic Four) but that doesn't come as too huge of a surprise.

So whose to blame for all this licensing problems with marvel?stan lee ?there always seems to be some bs

I eat dim sum at night also at this spot that closes late.

You blame comic book fans. If Marvel wasn't going bankrupt back in the 90's, they wouldn't have sold the rights off... but then again we wouldn't have some of the good movies we have now so... idk

That is the best Movie of 2014 and a pox on anyone who has something negative to say about it

Idk about anyone else but I really liked how they didn't try and do too much with all the villains. When I saw that Electro Green Goblin and Rhino were going to be in it, I expected a convoluted mess but they didn't go that route. They gave us just enough of Harry to see what he can do in the next movie.

I was vehemently against Jamie Foxx being Electro because I think he sucks at life. Tired of his singing his terrible shows, all of it, and of course he started making the movie weird at first but he redeemed himself.

Action was on point loved every second of it, I would agree though that the train fight from SM2 was still the best.

Peter and Gwens dynamic >>>>>>>>>>>>

They absolutely nailed Gwens death. Even though I knew it was coming they still made me feel it, and I felt shock when it happened..

Wished it was a bit longer, when it comes to movies I have no objection of sitting there forever.

Venom is the best super hero villain to me. The rivalry that he and Spider-Man have just feels pure and organic.

I can't see DOFP being better than this because I hate X-men. Going to admit my bias upfront but I really think it's stupid.

Also hated Godzilla.
