Ford Mustang - 2021 Mach-E - ElectriC Mustang SUV

I'm basically averaging the same with this 2015 eco-boost from what I was averaging in my 2013 V6 I seem to be filling up every two days from half way mark on the 2015, I was doing the same in the 2013. Another note, the V6 took 87 this eco-boost is taking 91 ... I'm still pretty happy doe, the drive on these new models doesn't even compare to the old Gen..

That is weird especially it taking 91 octane. The new independent rear suspension makes a ton of difference and worth the new Mustangs for that alone.

You don't get the full power unless you put 93 octane but in California 91 is The highest as you can get unless u mix with racing 100 and 91 to get 93...

The base GT350 will start at $47,870; the track-ready GT350R will start at $61,370--a full $10,000 less than Chevy's similarly-equipped Camaro Z28.

Using Ford's first-ever application of flat-plane crank technology -- which allows better engine breathing -- the 5.2L V8 in the new GT350 cranks out "more than" 520 horsepower and 400 lb-ft or torque, making it the most powerful naturally aspirated engine in Ford's production history. A light-weight six-speed manual transmission will be the only gearbox offered in the GT350.

In order to improve the Mustang's handling prowess, the GT350 has been fitted with a lowered suspension, Ford's first ever adaptive damper system (called ManeRide), extra-stiff 19-inch wheels and specially designed Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The GT350 also boasts a wider front track than the standard Mustang.

The R takes the GT350 formula to the next level. A thoroughly revised suspension setup and upgraded brakes on all four corners help the driver make the most of the R's grunt both on and off the track. Ford has added lightness by removing the air conditioning system, the stereo, the rear bench, the trunk floorboard, the exhaust resonators, the rear-view camera and the tire repair kit, making the GT350R 130 pounds lighter than the standard GT350 equipped with the Track Pack. However, buyers who can't live without creature comforts can order the R with an optional Electronics Package that brings back equipment like dual-zone A/C, an eight-inch touch screen with navigation and a seven-speaker stereo system.

Visually, the R is instantly recognizable thanks to a large front splitter, a sizable rear spoiler, red brake calipers and a sprinkling of GT350R badges. Notably, the R comes standard with 19-inch wheels made out of carbon fiber instead of aluminum, a move that shaves 52 pounds of unsprung weight. The rims are wrapped by Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The track-focused treatment continues inside with a pair of Recaro bucket seats and a D-shaped steering wheel. A metal plaque located on the right side of the dashboard reminds the passengers that they're not riding in a run-of-the-mill pony car. Only 37 examples of the R will be built for 2015.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 2016 Shelby GT500 had those numbers. I'd like to see the GT350 as a naturally aspirated 5.4 Liter.
Ford gave me almost exactly what I was hoping for with the 2016 Shelby 350. I'm really excited about this new 5.2 liter V8. 520hp and 400lbft is insane out of an NA engine that "small". It looks very good on paper.

Ford has announced power ratings for its all-new naturally aspirated V8 that equips the Shelby GT350 Mustang and Shelby GT350R Mustang and chances are you won’t be disappointed.

With 526hp at 7,500 rpm and 429lb-ft (581Nm) of torque at 4,750 rpm, the flat-plane crankshaft V8 is both the most power-dense (102hp per liter) and the most powerful naturally aspirated road-going engine in Ford history. It is also the highest-revving production V8 in the automaker’s history, with the redline beginning at 8,250 rpm.

Ford says the engine also has an “exceptionally wide powerband,” as it produces 90 percent of peak torque from approximately 3,450 rpm through 7,000 rpm and features a “racetrack-friendly” spread of nearly 3,000 rpm between its torque and horsepower peaks.

The all-new 5.2-liter V8 will be paired exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission in both the Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT350R. Specifically engineered for less mass and high-rpm application in the new Shelby Mustangs, the Tremec TR-3160 six-speed manual features a lightweight, die-cast aluminum case and clutch housing for increased overall powertrain stiffness.

Besides the change in the characteristic sound of an American V8, Ford says the flat-plane crankshaft helps improve cylinder exhaust-pulse separation by allowing a firing order that alternates ignition events between the V8’s two cylinder banks. According to the automaker, this can vastly improve engine breathing and allow the engine to make more power.

2015 Shelby Super Snake Offers Up To 750HP

Ford may be using the Shelby name on the new GT350 and GT350R Mustangs, but the company founded by Carroll Shelby carries on with its own projects, the latest of which is the 2015 Super Snake, its most extreme take on the new Mustang.

And super it should be indeed, as Shelby American says the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine produces more than 750 horsepower with the optional 750+ HP package. Based on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT, the new Super Snake features a series of Ford Performance parts including a supercharger that boosts the engine to more than 650hp, an exhaust with Shelby tips, handling pack, as well as a short throw shifter.

Other performance upgrades include Shelby Wilwood six-piston front brakes, Shelby Performance cooling pack, Weld Racing one-piece Super Snake 20-inch forged wheels and more. All these technical upgrades, plus the aggressive aerodynamic kit with carbon fiber components and Super Snake striping and badging cost $49,999.

For those who want even more performance, Shelby American offers the optional 750+ HP package which features Whipple 750+ or Kenne Bell 750+ superchargers, upgraded cooling package, differential cooling, transmission cooling, Shelby Wilwood four-piston rear brakes, brake duct kit and one-piece drive shaft. The 750+ HP package is priced from $54,999.

RIP Hellcat

To be fair the 750HP option seem to cost $50k-$55k in addition to the GT price (~$33k)so that is about $88k starting price?

I think Hellcat is still a better bargain starting at $60k?

Truth. the hellcat is a much better value, and rumors is that the dodge engineers brought the hellcat numbers down from 850HP to 707HP.
And no, the hellcats are not selling out all that is being marked up. There are plenty available at retail.

That said, the new Shelby Supersnakr will be a monster. I can't wait to see them on the streets.

And just because there's no Ford Focus RS thread, i'll just post this in light of the recently confirmed 345hp it possesses.

Both cars are amazing but my heart belongs to the Mustang. I don't like to drive cars but if I ever own one THAT is the car I will buy.
