Air Jordan 4 & 11 Retail Prices Increase for Holiday 2012

Mods should probably lock this up.

They took back the price hike.

The Bred 11s will retail at $185 (a $5 price increase), and the Bred 4s will retail at $160 (no change).

The issue is not the small $5 increase; it's the fact that it happens every year and to make matters worse, JB doesn't seem to bother with QC anymore. So while you think "$5 is nothing for this one release" every year, JB sees that in five years, they'll have you pay $25 more for the same (or slightly worse) product.

THIS.

Kinda feels like JB is being shady and just wanted to "casually" raise the price of the XI's. Get everybody angry about a $25 increase on the shoe and then mislead the consumers to think they have a voice and make it just a $5 increase instead. This way they can test the market to see what they can get away with but still raise the price without heavy backlash. Shame on you JB

Every year the price will go up and jb will justify it. Already told myself I was done after this year because of the lack of quality and overall decline. It's sad now when the new Jordan boxes are as crappy as the shoes inside of them. Enjoy it now because the prices will rise eventually.

The XI is an iconic shoe. Honestly we're lucky they stopped at 185 cuz god knows how many people will miss out on RD and pay 3-400 for this shoe.

ended up sleeping on the concords last year. thought i could stroll into the mall at 12 and gettum. when i saw the chaos and police cars i decided to go home....ended up paying 280 shipped for em in march(thought it was a better deal than most resellers, still rape tho) in short ill be at my local spot right after work fri night. no one should have to pay 3-400 for any shoe!

Yea these increases are crazy.nike will realize when shoes like the Grey and orange Jordan 12 come out for 200 to 250 people won't be buying them.Wonder if price increase will cut down lines?

Ahhh, relief. That major increases had us in a shock. But Jordan Brand came to there senses and set price of the Bred/Cement 4's at $160, and the Bred 11's at $185. I was looking to buy the Bred 11's at $180 but that price was just for the Concords last year. I'll be saving up this year!

that is the point right there.  We keep saying it's only $5, then you turn around and 3 yrs later you realise they marked that *$@#$ up $20 +.

I'm not trying to make it personal here, but I get agitated seeing people who only KNOW a very small percentage of what is coming out next year talk about how they are done after supposed sneaker drops....like I said earlier....Complain now...buy later....that's how it works around here!

Herein lies the flaw with your logic:
1) Not all of us like the same stuff
2) Even if I "like" a certain pair, it doesn't mean I'll bend over backwards to purchase it.

I did leave another release off of my list above just to be sure I remain consistent (Royal I's), but the point remains.  As stated earlier in this thread, I would gladly pay more if quality increases came along with these price increases.  I'm ok with paying a premium for a superior product, but a premium for an inferior product when I can just hunt down OGs or 1st gen retros?  I'm good on that.  When I already have most of the J's I want it's not necessary.  I don't need every colorway of 1-23.  I buy what I like which is why I rarely wind up selling much of my collection unless it's a double.

I'm in a shirt and tie 5 days a week, it's not that serious to the point that I need every single Jordan anymore.  Besides, nowadays I wear my Nike's way more than I do my J's.

For those who are fine with this, more power to them.  It's one's prerogative to do what they see fit with their own money.  They call it an opinion for a reason.

I will always have a soft spot for this brand and hats off to Nike/JB for making shrewd business decisions.  Cash in on the nostalgia now, it won't last forever.

Well you are the exception to the rule. I was making a generalization based on what happens around here...but I still stand by what I said earlier about alot of these people who complain about this, that, and everything else, but continue to support a brand that creates hype, increased prices, limited supplies (even on GR's), and continues to cut cost production on leather quality by giving up crappy reiterations of Jordans we loved growing up.

You have a set (nh), I applaud you for knowing that your dollar is worth more keeping than freely giving it to a brand that caters to everything else I just mentioned. Same approach I take in buying.
We as the consumers are the ultimate hypocrites, you're absolutely right about that.  We complain yet we still look forward to many releases and go out of our way to purchase.  Unfortunately many will complain about quality til the cows come home yet if they miss out on a release they'll gladly shell out a premium to get it.  Instead of doing that, I've been selective with what I've purchased lately.  If I'm going to drop that kinda money, I'm at least going to do it on quality products.  For those who say they'd be willing to drop $350+ for present day Retros, more power to them.  For that I'll just grab OGs or 1st gen retros of the models that are built to last.  Just checked the Bred XI and XIII's off my list (2001 and 2004 respectively) and it feels good to know that the quality matches what I chose to pay.  Here and there, JB puts out something that reminds you of the good ole days (Bordeaux VII's, Playoff XIII's), but unfortunately releases like that are not the norm.    If not for the cracking/crumbling midsole issues with IVs I would gladly hunt down several '99 pairs.  Unfortunately I will have to weigh how important it is for me to have a lesser quality version of my #1 grail come November.  I've come to accept the lack of Nike Air.  We shall see if there will be any other sacrifices (lack of durabuck, shiny midsole paint).  Luckily I'm reaching the point where my collection/rotation of J's is almost complete.  Eventually J's won't be the in thing anymore for the teens and if JB continues to release everything at the rate they have been, most of us will have our grails.  JB can't sustain this level of success off of nostalgia forever.

was only a matter of time. i'm not surprised. just won't buy.

already got a pair of bred 11s. not DS but they aight. i'll live off those. lol

I really dont think this price increase is going to change anything. People are still going to buy them I'm just hoping the quality gets better.
