Yea, neither one of those was a "robbery" either. At all.

You can't just blame the "judges" for giving a round to a fighter that neither fighter makes a dominant statement in. Terms like "robbery" and questioning judges is becoming far too cliche for fans who's favored fighter doesn't win.

I could do the same for both Bendo fights. But I wouldn't.

A fighter winning a fight that goes back and forth and has several even rounds or tough to score rounds isn't a "robbery".

I thought Round 3 was definitely questionable. I've seen many people who scored it for Edgar. I was so drunk, I just remember thinking "close round" and I was happy that Frankie was starting to even out the fight.

And you're right about starting strong.

Honestly, the better fighter won. Rounds aside. So I'm not mad at all.

But as I said, even a hardcore Aldo fan next to me had Frankie winning the last 3.

Great ******g fight. That's all I asked for and I'm happy with what I, and we all got.

People who've been to a live fight....

Is it tough to see the action through the cage?

I've been to a ton of live Boxing events and it's obviously easier to watch standup through ring ropes.

I just always got the vibe that watching through the cage, especially if it hits the ground would be hard.

I could have gone to the Chicago Fox fights a few weeks back and I had the hookup through one of Guida's trainers but I passed.

I do still feel like i need to hit a live card one of these days though. I just prefer watching on TV right now with unlimited beer, alcohol, wine and smokin.gif within arms reach.

Would love some feedback.

its easy to see the standup as long as youre not somewhere where the heads are blocked by the top of the cage

except for GnP against the side of the cage facing me, i had to watch the screens for all the ground work

it all depends on where youre sitting i guess

His trainer Duke Roufus said it will be no problem for him to make 145lbs. He also said the main reasons for Pettis to want to challenge Aldo bc he knows from experience that his lightweight title isn't guaranteed after what happened when he was promised a title fight with the Maynard Edgar fight in 2011. He doesn't want to wait to fight the winner of Bendo/Melendez, and then one of them gets injured or something. Second reason is that Pettis has always had the idea of winning titles in two weight classes, and he feels like now is the best opportunity to make it happen.

UFC 157 is a pretty good card. Ronda Rousey is the first ever UFC women's champion. She's 9-0 in her MMA career (6 pro fights, 3 amateur fights). All have ended in first round arm bar. Her opponent is Liz Carmouche, who is a pretty good fighter herself.

IMO, the Lyoto Machida vs Dan Henderson is going to be an interesting and the best fight on the card. Henderson has his signature H bomb punch and if it lands on machida, it's lights out for him. But Machida is elusive and hard to hit. He's also a great counter striker with great footwork.

Other names to watch out for on the card are Urijar Faber, Chad Mendes, Koscheck vs Robbie Lawler ( even though Kos will probably wrestle him down all night). and for the Brendan Schaub vs Lavar Johnson fight, I garuntee someone will be getting ktfo.

Chino pretty much got it.

Main Event is the first woman's fight in the UFC, Rousey is going to be a star whether we like it or not.

Dan Henderson (The dude in my avy) v. Lyoto Machida should be a hell of a fight. Wrestling and power v. Karate and precision

Faber/Menjivar should be a fun fight, Faber likely wins.

And someone is def going to sleep in the Schaub/Johnson match, total slugfest.

Don't know why the fight is in August, though Pettis was jumping down because he wanted to fight ASAP.

Whatever, still a hell of a fight.

Word on the street is the UFC is pushing hard to make MMA a go in NY and do their 20th Anniversary show at "The World's Most Famous Arena".
^
That would be nice since it's only a 40 minute train ride for me. I asked before in the thread what was the hold up and someone said it was because of some political / union thing. I have no connection or care for the issue and just want mma legal in NY. Seeing all the drunk fights on the train after an event would be awesome smokin.gif.

The TGIFridays in Penn Station would be SO ignorant after that ****......
