HE CALLED OUT JOSE ALDO!
So I take it based on the replies that the event tonight was pretty good.

Busy watching the NBA playoffs, gotta catch the replays.

^The main event? Yes. The rest was so-so. (Pokrajac/Maldonado was great, too.)

FOTN: Zombie/Poirier
Sub: Zombie
KO: Lawlor

40K each.

How was the fight?

If I remember correctly, Cerrone kept throwing 1-2 combos following with a vicious leg kick. Mixed it up with a few knees and takedowns. Stephens didn't have an answer and looked lost out there. Basically, it was the opposite of the Cerrone/Diaz fight. He kept it technical and didn't brawl with Stephens. He pushed forward enough and made Stephens uncomfortable.

Zombie banked an additional $80K. $40k for FOTN and $40k for Sub of the night. pimp.gif

Plus the fighters are known to get additional "locker room bonuses" as well. I'm sure Zombie got PAID for this one

OMG. Good time to be a Korean MMA fan. Half Korean LW champ and Korean top contender pimp.gif

Awesome fight. Jung is a straight killer. How can you not like this guy? I'm on some MMA boards and EVERYONE loves KZ laugh.gif

Amazing finisher, entertaining style and the best nickname in sports. Remember first seeing him fight Garcia?

He's very tough and a balanced fighter.  He can hurt you standing up and his subs are sick.  Aldo's so fast though.  His punches and knees are lightning fast and can end a fight in a second.  That knee he hit Mendes with was great smiley: eek.
Zombie was a major underdog in that fight. I honestly thought he would lose to the much bigger guy. His ground game is very impressive.

If only he would have finished that round with the triangle choke, that would have been the icing on the cake. Still a dope sequence and an exciting fight though.

Fuel event was pretty sick. Only boring fight was the Saddolah one.

Main event was crazy.

The lhw fight was a proper scrap.

That lil violent tristar ninja (Jabouin) Eek... was lighting up that boy something fierce!!

Cerrone was acting corny with the Diazesque taunting in the 1st rnd but he looked nice after that.

UFC on Fuel TV3 did an average of 173,000 viewers. That number continues a downward trend for UFC on Fuel TV shows, with their first one doing 217,000 (Sanchez vs Ellenberger) and second show (Gustafsson vs Silva) doing 197,000.

Just when I thought UFC 146 couldn't get any worse, Mark Hunt is out. It's now Lavar Johnson vs. Stefen Struve.

Struve via 1st-round sub.

Johnson via 1st round TKO.

Yeah, I was smiley: eyes at that. Like, dude... your last fight you got hit in the face more than any other UFC fighter in history and got clowned relentlessly. Get a couple wins under your belt and then you can start that bs again

Mark Hunt out... FML

Struve needs to take it to the ground IMMEDIATELY or he'll be getting K'ed. It should be pretty easy to tap Lavar if he gets him there, though.

Even Mark Hunt has more of a ground game than Johnson. Hunt at least has decent TDD and somewhat of a clinch game. Regardless of Struve's poor takedowns and Lavar's size, if he gets a hold of Johnson, he'll get him down. Shawn Jordan already tossed him around and even Pat Barry of all people took him down like nothing and almost submitted him. Not to mention, it can't help that Lavar's taking this fight on short notice. With all that said, I wouldn't be shocked if Struve gets KTFO. He's proved that he's very hittable and he never has the best of gameplans. I personally think he wins and this is a much more winnable fight for him than Hunt.

It's gonna be Barao. I'm pretty sure Faber already mentioned he wanted Barao and he's probably the most deserving at this point. If for whatever reason it's not him, it'll be McDonald.
Much more interested in Barao vs. Faber than Cruz. Cruz is the best point fighter out there, but he needs at least ONE finish.

UFC champion Jon Jones arrested

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was arrested early Saturday morning in Binghamton, N.Y., on suspicion of drunken driving.

"I can confirm that Jon Jones was arrested early this morning on suspicion of DUI," Jones' manager, Malki Kawa, said in a statement.

"While the facts of this situation are still being gathered and situated, First Round Management fully supports Jon and we are asking for fans and media to respect the privacy of Jon and his family during this time."

According to a representative for the Binghamton Police Department, Jones, 24, was arrested at 5:02 a.m. ET after crashing his Bentley.

Jones and his passengers were uninjured. The investigation is ongoing.

TMZ first reported the arrest.

After making his professional mixed martial arts debut in 2008, Jones (16-1) skyrocketed to the highest level of the sport, winning the UFC title at 205 pounds last year by stopping Mauricio Rua.

The native of upstate New York has defended the title three times since, most recently a five-round unanimous decision on network television against Rashad Evans.

Jones' next defense is scheduled for Sept. 1 against Dan Henderson.

Tonight's Strikeforce Card on Showtime is going to be a good show:

Main Card (Showtime)
Heavyweight Grand Prix Final: Josh Barnett vs. Daniel Cormier (rumors that the winner might get next UFC HW title shot)
Lightweight Championship: Gilbert Melendez vs. Josh Thompson (Melendez said he will ride out his Strikeforce contract; 3 more fights remaining)
Light Heavyweight Bout: Rafael Cavalcante vs. Mike Kyle
Welterweight Bout: Nah-Shon Burrell vs. Chris Spang

damn Jones, you try to be so humble and be portrayed as religious and a great role model, but then put other people's lives in danger while drunk driving. You're a millionaire dude, call a damn taxi!

Decent looking Strikeforce card tonight, didnt know that lunatic Mike Kyle was fighting

Rafael destroyed Kyle and Spang beat Burrell in impressive fashion. 2 quick fights and finishes.
Nice to finally see some finishes tonight. Prelims had 5 straight decisions.

Glad Spang won, especially after his brother lost last night. I think a lot of people underestimated him going into this fight. If he works on his TDD/grappling, he's gonna be a force.

Anyone catch Inocente's fight? His striking looks vicious. Zwicker's chin is on another level, though. He would've knocked-out a lot of other dudes with the shots he was landing tonight. He's supposedly been training with Overeem/Spong and the rest of the Blackzillions and it showed.

Edit: Let me just add that Frank Shamrock is terrible. People love to hate on Rogan and Goldie, but Frank is just unbearable to listen to. smiley: sick
