What NBA games used to look like

From 1968...check out the stage on the far side of the court...there's an actual full orchestra - quite a change from the assorted hip hop beats that areplayed at NBA games these days.

Check out the fans...dudes used to get all dressed up in ties

People used to dress up because they used to go straight from work, practically. Look at any old baseball games, especially when night games weren'tcommon. Also, there wasn't a market for the oversized jerseys and baggy jeans crowd.

wow....look at all the photographers huddled near the base of the goal post...

were there some games that were in rather dim lighting? i remember reading through some MJ books and in some series against the pistons it looks like the onlyplaces you can see well are on the court.

Still happens if the game isn't being televised - which is pretty rare nowadays though. The lights need to be much brighter for a decent TV picture.

Like someone already said a few teams are doing that now intentionally - dimming the lighting everything but the court - just to make it more interesting and Isuppose keep the emphasis on the court.

I like the distance between the court and the audience. It wouldn't be cool when watching the game live, but I would like to watch it on TV like that more.

From 1968? That means Zodogg was old enough to have gone to that game. He was the guy starting the "Elgin Baylor sucks" chant or wishing death toJerry West.

Nice attempt at humor, but I'm not THAT old. I just turned 30 in November.

And I didn't hate the Fakers organization until the post-Shaq era. I actually respected them prior to tearing their entire team apart and letting thatlittle #!$$+ #24 call the shots. I really enjoyed watching the Magic Johnson "Showtime" Fakers teams play.
I wanted them to lose of course, because they were always beating the Suns, but they had great teams and were a classy organization.

Wait, did I read that right?

A praise about the Lakers from Zodogg even though it's the past?

Game recognize game.
