Jay Electronica Appreciation

:pimp:

this dude can do no wrong in my eyes.
and. this was on the patents of nobility tracklist.... there's hope

"People are afraid to go into an environment they are completely unfamiliar with," he explains. "For me, my life is a journey. Nothing against Drake, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Kanye West, but they're in a certain kind of machine that doesn't afford them the freedom to do that." He adds: "The greats have always been the people who gave you of themselves, as opposed to just giving you a product." (Interview Magazine)

Just Blaze played a Jay Electronica x Drake song yesterday
Hov said the album needed a single...
Let us pray

"The greats have always been the people who gave you of themselves, as opposed to just giving you a product."
This is exactly why I laugh at people who criticize him from not releasing music in the traditional sense.

The place where art and corporate interest meet can be an ugly place.

jay electronica is the best rap to study to.  hes just here kicking knowledge in the background, making me smarter.   i'm doing law stuff and, thanks to jay elec, memorizing astro physics at the same damn time.

Honestly, I dont even care if he doesnt give us an album at this point. I mean, sure I'd prefer more music but what this guy does put out is so much better than everything else that his lack of quantity really adds to his general aura. Dude steps out once a year, drops the most though-provoking rhymes on the most beautiful instrumentals, then revert backs to nothingness. Bruh is such an enigma, there's never been a ***** like him before. Like, everything he does is random and leaves you scratching your head/in awe. Links up with a Rothschild, signs with the ROC, the fact that he's from New Orleans but is a TOTAL departure from everything that has ever came out of there, ect. He's probably the most talented man rapping but its obvious that he could careless. In a industry where a lot of guys would bend of over a desk for success, Elec is truly refreshing.

Can you post the performance if you have the full one.

I was there and he was mind-blowing. Performed Abracadabra sitting on someone's shoulders. Did every song I could ask him to minus Renaissance Man.

Crowd went wild when He brought out Talib. Then J. Cole too. I was waiting on Mos but seeing most of that song live was crazy.

Jay Z came out to Young, Gifted, and Black. Did We Made It, Shiny Suit Theory, and went out on Public Service Announcement.

Both Jay's did not miss a word and the crowd was wild.

Didn't hear anything about Aug 5 tho.
