I've been enjoying mostly beer and wine, but I guess part of growing up wanted me to try out new things. Picked up a bottle of Macallan 12, and although it's still pretty strong, it's a lot smoother compared to cheap whiskys that I drank just to get trashed (Jack daniels

Looking to get some recommendations on what is good and worth trying...I'm thinking of picking up a bottle of Johnny walker green label next...or Highland park 12.

johnnie walker black label bro, straight with some ice cubes, the smoothest whisky I have ever had

Jack Daniels is all good with me. Probably the only thing that gives me a good buzz and goes great with coke unlike Hennessy (imo). Macallan 12 is good too and is a total creeper. I took shots of that rather then sipping it and I got effed up one day.

- Crown Royal - Canadian Whisky

-Makers Mark - Kentucky Bourbon

- Jameson (i prefer the select reserves rather than the regular, they are smoother) - Irish Whisky

man...I've been killin bottles of JD straight lately.

I need to get on that Johnnie Walker though...what are some other good whiskeys to try?

Whiskey is the only hard liquor I drink. Abused vodka too much during college, so now that @#$% just tastes like rubbing alcohol to me

Jack Daniels
Johnnie Walker
Jameson
On a budget: Jim Beam

I'll drink a lot of variety during the winter...

Macallan 12, 18 (on Firm's dime usually) and have a bottle of Blue stocked.

Irish side, still enjoy Jameson.

Have a old %+* bottle, that was from the 60's of some Ballantine 21 yr aged...gets the job done.

If you like sweet - Makers Mark
If you like smooth - Macallan 12
If you like a little smoke - Lagavulin 16

Is Johnnie Walker Blue Label that much better than the "lower" versions? Might purchase a 200 ml since I can't afford $300 a bottle at the moment

hmm i might have to give jack daniels another try then...last time i bought it, i bought it to make jack and coke and let's just say i haven't touched it since.

i also have jameson on the wish list, and looks like i'm going to have to add makers mark now

All I use to drink was Henny until recently.

But I started drinking Glenlivet and Black Label. My pops got me a bottle of Blue Label for XMAS. too

It's better, to me...I actually like Green a lot too.

I dig Blue because each bottle has a somewhat "unique" taste, so to speak. Red and black taste similar (not to eachother) more consistently.

Costco has Blue and sometimes has a "decent" deal on it FYI.

I originally had Blue at a Xmas party and that following summer bought it as part of a gift (flask filled) to my Groomsmen.

I heard it is good, but you can get better stuff for the money. I'd try the green label, heard good things about it, and thankfully not the same price range as the blue

ive had red, black, and a little bit of the green.
anyone tried gold label?

Straight whiskey is my goto drink.
I wanted to broaden my horizons so I tend to go to Bevmo on Fridays after work and cop a new bottle.

You'd be surprised that some cheaper bottles taste a whole lot better than more expensive ones.

Ways you should try whiskey:
- With a nice cigar. It totally changes the taste.
- Straight / on the rocks
- With some amount of water

I've been really liking Talisker lately.

I really like whiskey; Scotch, American, Irish, where ever... I'll drink it.
