Breaking Bad Thread - "El Camino" - A Breaking Bad Movie on Netflix 10/11

I really don't like the angle they took to finally make Jesse flip. It would make a lot more sense if he never knew about the kid from the train heist.

This kid's alive and Jesse's not in his life. Jesse also tried to blow up Kaylee Ehrmantraut's spot. Overall, the writers are showing some "understandable" weaknesses in the development of a character they planned on getting rid of early.

How so? Jesse has always had a soft spot for kids, it's been written into his character since season 1 (when he found out his little brother had a joint but took the blame for it because he didn't want his brother to go down that path. Or the red-headed kid he ran into at the home of the two drug addicts)

Regarding the Brock poisoning, it's not about it being non-lethal. Jesse has always thought that kids are innocent and should not be involved in stuff like this, whether it's being on the corner selling like Tomas or being a pawn in Walt's chess match like Brock.

last week's episode was great. this one was okay. still just waiting to see how everyone dies.

>D

lol @ skyler.

after her suggestion at the hotel, i cant be the only one that thought.... 'bltch, he loves jesse more than he loves you...'

You know whats really great about this show?

The fact that the story is the story. No one questions the decisions Vince and the writers make. . No one criticizes focal moments and/or story points. We just all sit back and enjoy it. We criticize the characters as if they're real people. At no point do you think 'that doesn't make sense' or 'that's not realistic to character x.'

The story just lives on its own. It's really amazing. I've never watched a show where I was so immersed that I forgot that this is all put together by a group of people. For an hour a week, it's just a story.
I completely agree. The only other show I felt this way about was the Sopranos.

talking bad brought up a good point

walt & jesse are more father/son than walt/walt jr (failey ovbious thru the show)... i think skyler got a feeling of that

but if Jr actually knew i think he'd prbly go off the deep end

To me Gomez doesn't have to be a big part of things. Him being dirty isn't that huge. Depending on how he's used and how the reveal is executed is what's the key.

As for why no clues or hints, I can only see that as an excuse by the viewer. There's nothing but great story irony if Gomez was dirty. If Hank was the main character of this show yall would say there were not many clues Walt was Heisenberg. Yall would probably be saying Jesse was Heisenberg for 5 season :lol:

The possible reveal that Gomez is dirty while Hank spent all this time not knowing about Walt would just continue to show how oblivious he is as a cop. While there aren't direct hints there are some unclear loose ends that could easily be tied to this reveal about Gomey.

Hopefully Gomez dies anyway, I just don't like his face like that one Gus henchman.

Just marathoned all of season 5 up til Sunday's episode..There isn't enough room on here to express all my feeling..But to sum it up..

Hank=dead
Marie=dead
Skylar=dead
Walt Jr=dead(just cause he's a whiny *****)
Pinkman=dead(see W.Jr.)
Heisenber=living the good life w/his baby and some random chick to service his every need

Totally forgot the Salamanca primos had the same composite sketch of Heisenberg that Hank had in his files when he put 2+2 together. Def was a leak in the DEA

Also saw someone else's point on an IGN post that Walt made a hella lot of major decisions when sitting at a pool throughout the seasons

Or maybe the DEA made their sketch public just like any other agency when they're looking for a suspect.

And leaks don't have to come from that high up, especially since we haven't seen blatant hints at corruption. Saul might know if someone has been booked because "his guy" works the desk at a police station and for a few hundred bucks he'll check a name for him.

At this point, unless they do it perfectly, if we get a surprise twist that Gomez was dirty I'm going to be disappointed. It would just be cheap and I can guarantee the majority would have their "mind blown" and those who dislike it would be "haters" :lol:

I don't like the idea of Gomez being dirty.

If that was going to happen it would have been when Gus was still around.

i can tell you whats cheap. how easily jesse rolled over on walt. i would say if jesse knew about walt letting his girlfriend die but he didnt...

after everything they been through hes going to roll over on him just like that?

kind of wish there was a season 6 so walt can actually do something to justify jessie snitching on him

Yeah when I think about it that heel turn needed more attention and episodes dedicated to it. This ep was good but very transitional. Seemed more focused on getting from one plot point to the next.

When I think about it and you think about the character I'm wondering why Jesse just didn't decide to kill Walt instead. Things just went so fast he went with Hank. Burning down the house was one knee jerk reaction but the morning after at Hank's house you can see the disappointment in his face when he saw what Hank had planned.

Deciding to kill Walt would've been that much easier. The way Jesse acts and has been acting since he doesn't give a **** he could've ditched Hank and went to that mall and just shot Walt.

Snitching clearly doesn't completely sit right but it has to go forward for story reasons. Has to be a show down and a clear line drawn so it can be them vs. Walt.

I think people are more interested in the "OH ****" moment of a Gomez turn than they are with how it will impact the story.
