Breaking Bad Thread - "El Camino" - A Breaking Bad Movie on Netflix 10/11

yes.
You can literally just google those coordinates and google maps will instantly tell you where they are.
Try it out. Just enter "34° 59′ 20.00″, -106° 36′ 52" into google maps and look at what it says.

We're dealing with career criminals who probably still use a flip phone and don't even use a computer. I know it's possible, but think about who we're dealing with.

The more I watch this season the more I am displeased by the fact that the first scene of episode 9 was a flash forward. Now it doesn't matter what shenanagins Walt gets into - until we connect with the flash forward timeline we know he will be just fine. This season would e infinitely more suspenseful if we never saw that 1st scene with him in the future.

Ok i guess i cant get enough....When walt says forget it dont come....he is perfectly clear.  So the fact that they DO show up after earlier in the episode them nazi boys say we dont want your $$ we want you to teach todd how to cook.  Walt says no...its like they came to  extort him in some manner.  Walt has to be comming back to get his money back from them nazi boys.  They say earlier in the episode..."alright now its time to make some money" so they must be hungry for lots of $$ not just hit job money.. unno who dies but im leaning towards hank for sure.  Walt sees them nazis fire power this episode, so he knows the ideal weapon needed to handle them.  As for jessy and Walts fam..i think there all under the same roof waiting on walt to save them like some sort of Gangster\superhero...Jessy becomes family as Walt states he already is.  Its like Hanks death pulls them all together in some way.  Flash forward is second to last episode.  Jessy and Walt handle biz in last ep..The ricin is for Marie, She wants to go out cus hanks gone. Walt feels hes got the perfect way...how ironic marie suggests walt kill himself now look at who kills themselves.  Im thinking also the way they show the m60 in the trunk infront of the white house its as if hes already used it.. mmmhmmm i see you Vince!
Yup.. i seeeeeeeee uuuuuuuuuuuu:wink:

naw walt will never forgive jesse for snitching and working with hank...

You're just assuming that.

I think some old arayans can learn how to google coordinates.

Todd is not a career criminal.
Yeah he does not have a smart phone just like everyone else in the show, but he seems to be inept to use an app like googlemaps.
I mean dude is not smart but still learned how to cook from the great Heisenberg.

first scene of season 5a was a flash forward so you knew for a year that Walt was getting out of whatever during the season.

I was watching an episode of vice and they mention how bad you're accuracy goes down when that adrenaline starts pumping...

I can understand that, but they had their guns pointed at each other for like 5min.

Come on b.

Remember that tuco scene? Hank's accuracy was on point.

its kind of expected for him not to die. Hes the show. What would haopen if he died and had 4 episodes left.

OT, but when I was looking for the ep last night on "taur ants" I went to the comments section of the file to check if it was a real/fake or virus file...some troll wrote "good ep. I never liked walt jr anyway." I was so irate lol. I thought I got spoiled and was expecting it during the show.

Yup. This.
Someone said earlier that they were only 8 feet away from each other.
Naw look at the gifs. They still had a good distance between the 2 shooting parties.
I say a good 60 feet or so.

I always put things in bball perspective. Lol. A freethrow is 15 feet. And that distance wasnt a freethrow. It was further. 3-4 times at least.

todd look like he didnt know what he was doing with that gun  act like he was holding a fishing pole or a remote control lol

I think it just goes to show how miscommunication between people could turn into a much bigger problem. After all the work Jesse and Walt have put in you could only hope that Jesse would have the composure to atleast hear Walt out. Jesse is just numb at this point...but being an informant is a no no. Jesse isnt gonna die. Im almost sure Hank will though. Its a curiosity killed the cat thing. He was just overly obsessed with this I think

I couldn't disagree more. Most of what he does, IS morally wrong. He neglects his son, got his brother in law paralyzed, watched Jesse's love die, put his whole family in danger, poisoned a little boy, etc. All for his own personal gain. You also justified selling drugs in your opening paragraph. It's okay because it's a independent business that produces little pollution?  :x  Also, Walter White could've been a billionaire but HE made the mistake of selling his portion of the company. So he did have connections in the science community. I don't understand where your beef with the U.S Government plays into this, it has NOTHING to do with the show.

I am not looking to single out the US government. Modern, nation states tend to have to have very similar twin pillars of power for the ruling class, state backed financial services on the one hand and those institutions whose stock in trade is, at it foundations, coercion. In the US, state supported finance and the security industry is especially powerful but Canada, Britain, Continental European Countries, Japan and pretty much any other advanced Economy.

If we go back through time and space, we see perhaps the security sector and maybe religion and a land owning nobility. If you have a stake in the hegemony of the present day status quo, look to a Medieval feudal society for instance. The clerical and landed elite (the higher ranking church officials and the knights and lords and their immediate families) lived by a very different set of rules than did the masses.

Whether it is the contemporary United States, another country in the 21st Century, a medieval society, an ancient society and any society with relatively complex social organization, there will be not only be official and established hierarchies and formal designations of power for certain people, there will inevitably be the informal power structure and part of that is control of the minds of those who make up the majority of those who are ruled. Convince enough peasants that not working hard being cheerful through out your life times of legalized, formalized and ritualized extortion and you, as ruler cemented you power in a way that the most formidable and relentless and ruthless police force, constable or interior ministry can.

Convince the ruled masses, that even questioning, let alone defying the established social contract (no matter how unjust or one sided that social contract may be) and you have turned a good deal of the people whom you rule into informants and extra enforcers of the social order. Hank Schrader and Jesse Pinkman and Marie Schrader are all examples of these sort of social control. They do not question why Hank is a hero for shooting a man in the head or nearly beating a man to within an inch of his life. They clearly are not being critical of the so called "war on drugs"( which is one of the most brilliantly devised tools of social control that we have seen implemented during the last hundred years of history).

Most importantly, Jesse and Hank value the state and its very selective and odd notions of morality. Jesse and Hank are two of the few people whom Walt values enough to put ahead of his own interests. Walt would have been much better off killing both of those men but true law, true morality governed Walter White on the question of how to proceed again two men who are hell bent on destroying his life, his family and his legacy as human being.

Even if you think that the our prohibition on certain, popular narcotics is a wonderful and effective and productive policy that was created for the benefits of the average American, Hank and Jesse's behavior is lamentable. More generally, if you really believe that our criminal justice system is concerned with dispensing even handed justice, you still should feel revulsion at Hank and Jesse's course of action during these last two episodes.

Walter White kept his Heisenberg persona in check when considering how to deal with two men who were hell bent on destroying him. He spent the events of the series protecting both of them from death, financial ruin and life time of debilitating permanent injury. The people who Walter White truly wronged are either dead or they are in no position to gleefully slap handcuffs on him. The people who he, considering the extreme and very difficult circumstances presented to Walt in the last year, helped and trusted and protected betrayed him and ruined his life because of an elite constructed system of morality and ethics that celebrates the betrayal of family, common sense and familial loyalty for the might of state power.

The fact that Hank and Jesse chose to align with the primacy of state power over their quasi brother and father, respectively, demonstrates the power of this meta narrative that state power of just, awesome, godlike and thus deserving of your loyalty. Both men, Hank and Jesse, we at one point or another, deemed either enemies of the state or as completely disposable. The state, in the form of the DEA was intent on abandoning Hank Schrader first to death (he is disarmed with the twins out, about and looking to kill Hank) and later on he was assigned to be severely crippled for life. Walt's money gave him his legs back.

In the case of Jesse, the state had mad attempt after attempt to seize all Jesse's assets and throw him in disgusting and violent dungeon for a years (We usually call these Dungeons, prisons or jails or correctional facilities. Euphemisms become more and more prevalent as the ruling classes' particular, euphemism demanding bad act or policy expands in it scope of use and/or depth of severity). Despite the state wanting to rob Jesse of his liberty time after time, Jesse's social conditioning caused him to betray Walt because in Jesse's head, killing people and making money is wrong for a person life himself. He could have shot and killed a thousand times more people if he wore some sort of police or military uniform and he could have made millions or even billions worked at Goldman Sachs or Exxon or Halliburton.

Walter White's actions are largely considered evil because he wore no uniform and did not make his money under the banner of a state approved and backed firm. If Walter White did everything that he had done and did it ten fold, he would be a hero if he made his money in pinstripe suit and established a scholarship fund and his murders would transformed into acts of heroism if he had worn a uniform, made some hollow vow to "protect and to serve," and was set to have public roads and edifices renamed in his honor.

That fact that two different individuals, engaging in similar courses of conduct can be arbitrarily declared good guys and bad guys because one acts in service of the state, the rich, the power structure and the other acts in defiance of that power structure is proof that the rich and powerful, the through out the world and across the sweep of the centuries, not only possess great wealth and the ability to wield enormous degrees of coercive force but that the ruling class has constructed a meta narrative that is as flexible as it is self-serving.
The fact that so many people adhere to the ruling classes narrative is testament to the power of those ruling class crafted meta narratives.

I think all the PISS POOR shooting was for a reason. In that, ,amidst all this laughable display of inaccuracy, Jesse caught a bullet.

The first couple minutes of the gunfight, Jesse gets camera time, as the show him obviously trying to figure out how to get outta the firefight. To me, the last minute of the firefight where they don't show him means that he got slugged with a bullet.

Maybe. Maybe not :\

naw the way this show is going jesse gonna survive and run off into the sunset with brock....erm i mean brocks mom

Why? It's not like Walt was gonna die before the last episode anyway
